This is a short story about forbidden lust - but not due to any restrictions by society or morals. No, this is about a predator (Tau, a felidae) falling for his prey (Hartley, a cervidae). We get no further explanation about their backgrounds, but we know that 'the hunt' is on once a month and if anyone in Tau's pride finds out about the forbidden liaison, Hartley will be eaten alive - literally.

J.M. Snyder is one of my favorite M/M authors and I literally want to get my hand on every stories she writes. This short story is full with lust of forbidden love. Between the hunter and his prey. This is the world that is unforgiving and raw, where the hunt is dangerous, but the hunter and the prey are both consumed with their desire; and their intercourse is scorching hot. This is a short story that's set in a world I found very unique. I was extremely intrigued with the glimpse I was given into this world, but when I got to the end I was just a bit disappointed. I wanted to know more -- more about Tau and Hartley, more about their society and more about what the future holds for both.
