I'm an author on the lemuriforms chapter in this edition, went through and added in ALL the updates--new species, reclassifications, new ecological info on little-studied species. I had a wonderful time, actually. Likewise in reading the other chapters! This is a great textbook from my point of view because it doubles so neatly as fast and simple reference material for higher level papers etc. while offering a more-than-usually-extensive grounding in current info for students coming into the sub ...more

If there is any book that should be part of a successful primatology course, this is it. Along with Karen Strier's Primate Behavioral Ecology, this gets into the nuts and bolts with great detail. This text has saved me a few times and actually helped me to write my IACUC research proposal. I love this book, SO, SO MUCH.
