Reese Abbott had left Wild Ridge, New York to get away from her over bearing and dominating family. The Abbott's were the wealthiest family in town and controlled the townspeople, Reece had escaped, was an arichitet in New York City and only came back when she learned that she had inherited her great aunt's mansion. Reece had taken heat when her family wanted to sell it and split the profits, but she had enjoyed the old place as a little girl and wanted to restore it to its former glory.

This book was such CRAP I have a hard time giving it any stars. The writing was horrible, but I hung in there. The heroine is supposed to be a very well to do debutante who rebels against her family to be a normal working woman. Given her upbringing one would expect her to speak grammatically correct, but apparently Ms. Mistretta doesn't know when to use 'good' vs 'well' or when not to use the word 'that' so our poor heroine suffers to the point of looking common and rather stupid.

This was my first Amy Mistretta book I ever read. I found it to be a very sad story, there are probably alot of Evan's out there that this has happen too. I just wish the book ended differently, I wish Travis & Jeff went to jail & got a lot of time for what they did to Evan & Reese. Another thing about the book it had some errors.
