And the angel said unto them, “Fear not: for behold, I bring unto you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.”

Audiences from religious and secular worlds alike are familiar with the comforting words from the second chapter of Luke in the King James Bible, most memorably featured in A Charlie Brown Christmas. Just as Linus reminded his community of the real

Really cute. I like the matte OFRA and illustrations that have a different feel that many other Christmas books.

This sweet picture book opens with six pages of a wordless story -- a family goes walking in the snow, and they visit a live nativity scene. As their little boy leans towards the manger to get a peek at the baby Jesus, the scene changes to a long-ago countryside near Bethlehem, with words from the King James Bible. "And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field." The story of the angels' announcement is told, using only words from the Bible. Then a distant view of the town of ...more

A classic Christmas-themed book for children. This book did have a lot of words on a page, so I would not recommend it for the most basic reader, but it is a great read aloud or for slightly more experienced readers. The illustrations are very nice and cover every inch of the pages. I would recommend this for K-1. There is not much to say about this one, it is the typical Christmas story.

Lovely illustrations to accompany bible verse. The modern scene seamlessly transforms to the first Christmas. Great introduction to Christmas for little ones.

I loved that the words came straight from the King James version of the Bible, the version of the Christmas story that I know and love. The illustrations were not my favorite.

Picked this picture book up at the library with a bunch of other Christmas books. It's a nice story showing the true story of Christmas.

This is a wonderful little book--the words are familiar verses from Scripture. The illustrations are very nice.

I like this story because it's the Bible verse that the Vicar of Dibley uses in their Christmas nativity play. But Joey and the girls know it from Charlie Brown's Christmas.

Beautiful pictures showing a modern family going to watch a nativity play. Readers are transported to that original story with the text from the King James Bible. Love it.
