The Hebrew Prophets can be a mixed bag, often either (on the left) revered but lacking context or (on the right) used to justify natural disasters and terrorist attacks because of people's sins of feminism and gay rights.
Rubenstein once again enters on old story with fresh eyes. He does a scholarly job not picking out his favorite quotations and brings out contemporary relevance.
