3.5 stars. This was a good read. I'm a big fan of the forbidden love theme and this one did it well. I actually felt a bit of the angst of the characters. It was nice to read a Harlequin where the H/h loved each other through most of the book and didn't fight through the entire thing.

There were also quite a few pretty hot love scenes.

This was a really quick read and I am looking forward to the next two books about Gillian's sisters.

This is not your average vampire book. This one is full of Egyptology and secret egyptian cults.

Three sisters, who grew up in Egypt, meet for lunch at one of the desert temples close to where Gillian, a historian, is looking for a grave.

A giant stallion, Al Fahl looks on and is captivated. He is really Lord Rhys Kilpatrick, a man who disappeared 125 years ago, and the owner of the grave Gillian is looking for.

Thus a very interesting trilogy is set up. You did remember I said there were 3 sisters...more

The writer has managed to pour her love for Egypt into the story. Plenty of sizzling love scenes. I almost kept this romance. I do want to read the other two books in this series. =)

The Immortal Sheikhs, book 1

Winner of the RT BookReviews Award for Best Nocturne of 2010!

The three Haliday sisters are not afraid of mummies. Nor of silly ancient Egyptian curses. Get real. This is the twenty-first century! Besides, Historian Gillian, anthropologist Gemma, and archaeologist Josslyn Haliday spent their childhoods sharing their sleeping tent with mummies and telling each other stories of fantastic shapeshifters and vampires, as they accompanied their Egyptologist father on his dig...more

So good to have a good paranormal story taking place in Egypt. I love the country, its mythology, temples and immortal legends.
Mixing immortal shape-shifters, vampires demi god, prietress... seemed a bit too much at first but it works quite well, taking you somewhere unreal during the read. I truly enjoyed Rhus and Gillian story even though you are left with quite a lot of question in the end.

Lord Rhys is the son of a British earl who has been turned into an immortal. His job is to supply his master (a five thousand year old demigod) with an annual sacrifice. When historian Gillian finds her way into Ryh's grave site he captures her to be the sacrifice. Then he finds himself falling in love with her and has to decide whether he will betray his master for her.

I'm not sure what I think of this book. I don't hate it but I can't really say I loved it either. I'm wondering if it would have been better if it had been a full length book. I did like it enough that I'll read the next one in the series. It had nothing to do with the writing, I'm just not sure what it was.

Historian Gillian Haliday goes into a tomb and meets Lord Rhys, who should be dead. Instead he is a Immortal who is also a shape shifter. I give this a 2 because not much really happens and I really hated the Stallion/horse references. Why make a perfectly good character a horse? It was kinda weird..

Cute but only read it if you have nothing better to do.
