I know I run the risk of being a squealing fangirl, but this really is a nice series. I might rate these lower if the books were longer, but the shorter length of the books works for the dynamic of the series.
This book finds Morgan trying to deal with the truth about her parentage- that her father is the evil Ciaran, leader of Amyranth. When the Council decides that Morgan has to infiltrate the group by cozying up to her evil father & irresponsible half-brother, Morgan half-heartedly More...

It's still hard to believe that Morgan's dad is on the bad side and that he may want to kill her for her powers or use her for bad. But thats what I like about this book, the fact that it makes you think and feel things without letting you know what is really happening or occuring. There is just a lot of hinting and suggesting in its pages, mysteries that have yet to be solved. This of course is what causes the attraction to the book. I loved the whole brother sister thing though wished it could

The first 2-3 books in this series are addictive, a fresh "modern-teen" POV in the tired genre of witches/kids with supernatural powers finding themselves (and the wonder of Wicca) among families/communities who "don't get it".
After #3, it goes downhill. There is no psychological development of the main characters (and the secondary characters are quite shallowly described and hard to distinguish throughout the series; even the more promising and believable ones, B More...

Today's review is on Cate Tiernan's Changeling, book #8 in her Sweep series.
After the excitement of The Calling, Morgan is asked by the Witches Council to get close to her half brother Killian and her birth father Ciaran. This would be no easy task and the sakes are high. The coven run by her friend Alyce is about to be attacked by Amyranth. Morgan has just 14 days to stop it.

This book did a great job of showing Morgan's continual struggle between good and evil, and her discovery that it might not always be cut and dry. The relationship she forms with Ciaran is heartwarming a little, and I found myself rooting for him, hoping he wasn't as evil as everyone says he is. I hope we find out more information about him in coming books that proves that. :) Morgan's stubbornness sometimes irritates me, like why she kept herself from Hunter, or how she finds out a little infor

Morgan gets to know her half brother Killian and her biological father Ciaron better in this book. She also discovers whether she is going to be good or bad.
I gave this book four stars instead of five because I really wasn't as impressed by this book as I have been with the first 7 books. Although I am glad that Hunter and Morgan were able to resolve their issues, I didn't understand the use of the monk's diary entries throughout. Morgan's battle with good and evil is front and center in this book. She does a really great job with tinkering on both sides. She's a good person by choice, but the evil still nudges at her from time to time. When she steps out of line and uses magic when she's not supposed to, she keeps wondering if she truly is meant to be a Woodbane and just go with it, or keep fighting it with all the good that is inside of her.

Ok, this book is why I will never leave my kids alone. When her adoptive non-Wiccan parents leave for a cruise, Morgan falls apart. Her grades slip, she volunteers for dangerous things and she behaves like an idiot. Drinking, weather magic, morally dubious spells.
I didn't like it because I didn't like Morgan's behavior, and there seemed to be no consequences.
Yes, I'm a parent, and yes I read YA fiction. Deal with it. :)

Morgan continues her journey and has to face the biggest challenge of her life. She is pitted against one of the most evil witches alive. Can she survive? These books are so much fun. Morgan is getting a bit more cautious and her magic is growing. Other members of the coven are also growing in Wicca. Morgan is also learning more about herself and her origins. Will she be able to cope with what she learns? I am guess with the help of all her friends she will make it. Book 9 is on it's way.

I just finished this book and I loved it. It's full of wicca, teenage fun, teenage love life... Morgan meets her REAL dad. She starts anew love life with hunter and is in trouble again. So if you like teen reading, fiction, wicca... You should read this. If you want to read something different, fresh, great... This book is for you. If you like football, sports... This book is NOT for you!

This bookm is totally amazing... so far it's my favourite one!! i thought it would be hard for me to be interested in as morgan dumped hunter, but it wasn't, it actually made it better coz there was passion! totally love it x Shocked at Ciaran, he took me by surprise... he really does care for morgan than the others, and Finally Morgan and Hunter are together again yaaaay :)

Super easy read. Finished in one sitting. The storyline has picked up for me and there are two characters that are now more porminant for the first time and this was a definately plus. The "struggle" for the lead character is becoming more interesting. Oh and best line of the entire book...."I am not your Dad"....:)

This is another page turner in the series and I'm glad she's back with Hunter and has accepted that she loves him deeply (the soul mate principle). She has proved she can overcome the evil and I'm eager to see how her knowledge of her father's true name comes into play later on. I found this to be a very good book in the series. Once again Morgan is put to the test and has to prove she is a good witch. I was very impressed with it. I recommend this book to any fans of the series

This book was interesting as Morgan must confront the two sides of her nature and determine if she is going to be a force for good or for evil. The Council contacts her and wants her to develop a relationship with her father (who tried to drain Morgan's powers in the last book until he realized she was his daughter) so that they can track him and find out what his coven is up to. They tell Morgan that he is planning on calling the dark wave to destroy Alyce's coven Starlocket and Morgan knows sh

So...freaking...lame. Was there a point to this one? Oh, right, so the reader could be subjected to page after page of Morgan's ridiculously pointless moping.
I'm gonna read something else, I need a serious break from this series.

Fantastic book of a life changing decision. I like the rather real relationship that both Hunter & Morgan have with one another, as well as Raven & Sky. Hunter & Morgan are attracted to each other by magic, while Sky & Raven are both attracted to each other more towards curiosity.
Overall...So far, this is my favorite book in the series.

ik heb er soms gewoon 2 op een dag uitgelezen omdat ze zooo goed waren en zo verrassend dun! terwijl er toch bijna een hele geschiedenis wordt beschreven

One more down, and I can't wait to read the next. I long to see Morgan's and Hunter's love blossom, which the next book is set up for.

Thought I'd dislike this one because Morgan was acting so foolish (the hunter situation) but it surprised me and i enjoyed it! Intense!

Some of this annoyed me a little, just because of Morgan being annoying, but sweet lord I loved it and HUNTER, awesome.

Morgan goes up against her real father, leader of the evil Amarynth, who wants her to join him.

By the end of this book Morgan is in a place she should have been in a long time ago. It amazes me that she is just waiting for herself to become bad, that isn't the case, life is always about the choices you make and one bad one doesn't mean that you are bad, you just made one bad choice.
I also am feeling a little mad about the council. I can't believe what they asked of Morgan, they should know better. Of course it didn't surprise me that Morgan did what they asked. It was a ha More...

A wonderful story-teller with interesting, thought-out characters. Tiernan never disappoints.

Morgan is faced with trying to prevent her real father from doing harm. Is she strong enough to prevent him or will he win in the end?

A different feel than the other books, Morgan finds out about her father and is asked to help by the Council.
Dec 07, 2010
When the Council asks Morgan to spy on and betray her new found brother and father, she is torn. Yes Ciaran, her father, is an extremely evil witch bent on destroying her friends, but he is her father. She has an instant affinity with her brother, Killian and betraying him may be the most difficult thing she'll have to do. The emotional upheaval is intense but the ending makes it all worthwhile.
