There is a large, well lit photograph of each stitch in vibrant, colored yarn(s). (This booklet is fun to flip through!) The book includes a great range of stitch designs for borders, many of which you are unlikely to have in other stitch guides. OK... so I am a knotty girl and I spend alot of time with my crobchet hook. I am self taught by watching u tube and experimenting. I found this book about creating decoative borders and I have bee teaching myself how to read patterns. It is not as hard as I thought it would be because this book is VERY clear. I love how the authors approached the 150 edgings with both charts and detailed instructions. I have begun to create edges of my own aside from the ones outlined! Loving this book!
Let me start off by saying I am an Edit Eckman fan, and this book delivers as usual.
This is not a pattern book, it's a crochet resource book for edgings. There are a ton of border ideas here, and it's very easy to customize the borders still more. They are all charted, which is always a plus, and include directions for making edgings on straight items - like the edging on a cardigan - or going around corners, like on an afghan. I love the fact that there are both lacey & textured borders.

The instructions and charts are crystal clear, and the photographs of the edgings are absolutely beautiful. This is a wonderful reference book for crochet. I would recommend it to anyone, regardless of skill level or experience with a hook!
An amazing resource book for crocheters. This book helps give afghans a professional finish. What is important that many books neglect is how to crochet the corner. This book gives excellent instructions, visual diagrams and clear pictures that are simple to follow.
I really love this book. It is very handy for making lovely borders and contains instructions for how to turn those borders into non-borders, should the mood strike you.
About 6 borders that I really like and can see myself using. Not enough to buy the book, but enough to want to remember the book and borrow it again later.
This book is a wonderful tool to have for when you want to add an edging to any crochet project.
Full of beautiful pics, so many different borders to put on your blankets or whatever!
It gives you a lot of ideas on how to add that finishing touch!

Super book with gorgeous photography.
this is a "must own"! beautiful patterns and notes for each, along with corner techniques. i love how the colors are chosen to work together too. it will fit nicely with my stitch dictionaries and give great ideas.
Including the instructions for going around the corner was a brilliant idea. Add to that the fact that so many of theses borders are just lovely and you have a keeper. I just finished a baby afghan using one of the borders from the book. It was easy to adapt and crochet. I recommend this book if you're looking for new ideas for crochet borders.
I love this book. I checked it out at the Library, but might have to purchase one for myself.
