Love sharing my love of reading with my niece. Hoping to make her a book lover just like my daughter.

Recommends it for: babies, babies who like to touch
Borrowed this from the library and LOVED IT! The touchy-feely bits on each of the pages are wonderful, and in really great shape, considering this is a library book. Fur for the rabbit, the horse's mane, wooly sheep, cow hide, and on every page a fine fuzz on the duckling for its feathers. We read this book a bunch of times, sometimes more than once in a day, and really enjoyed touching it every time. The cadence of the words was fun, too.

This is the same story as "Are you my mother" but in this one there's no apparent reason why the baby duckling is separated from his mother. It starts off, "One bright morning, a little duckling asked...Are you my mommy?" It's fun to touch the furry animals, but the story doesn't make a whole lot of sense compared to other similar tales.

Are You My Mommy teaches children about tactile texture and animals.

The rhythm and language of the book makes for an excellent read. Plus the illustrations are dear.

It's a simple lovely story.

I love the "Touchy" books but this is also a sweet story. The duckling is on the hunt for it's mommy and ask other barn yard animals if they are it's mommy. Cute! Illustrations are cute, and I love to touch the different 'animal' textures.
