I do not exaggerate when I say that absolutely nothing happens in this book to advance the overall plot, very disappointing. I would be annoyed if I had actually purchased this novel. Barely worth the read. The writing is trite and cliched in the extreme. Teenagers act like they are 50, which I guess I could accept had that been the case from the start of the series, but it wasn't.

Honestly I'm more interested in anything but the JACK and SCHUYLER relationship. I EVEN find mimi 10x more interesting, especially with oliver around we see a much kinder side to her, they're both as vulnerable as each other and as much as mimi denies that she can ever relate to oliver "red blood", she later on realized he's like her new safety blanker - i wish there was some romance there but since their thinking of rescuing kinsley that idea is down drain, but you never know :) I love kingsley...more

I like the Blue Bloods series. The author has created a great group of characters and has invented a totally original and entertaining vampire mythology--not an easy thing to do these days. She writes great action scenes and always manages to infuse just the right amount of romance into her stories--romance that is not overwrought or manufactured.

All of these things still apply to this installment. The author's characters and writing are as masterful as always, but I found myself rather disappo...more

Jack and Schuyler fled to Europe to fulfill Schuyler's mission. At the moment, they're on the run, as Jack chose Schuyler in an unprecedented affair. While they have their romance, they also have death threats looming over their heads. Mimi is angry - really angry.

Mimi's the interim leader of the Blue Bloods for the time being. She's downplaying her role during school, but she's responsible for their survival. When a homemade movie leaks, signaling...more

Sadly, i was debating with a 2? Don't get me wrong this book was amazing. Amazing.. but short, and short of my expectations. Let's rewind, shall we? (Don't worry no spoilers)

We start of with Schuyler and Jack, YAY! i wanted to see what happens after the previous book. What an awful cliffhanger. ANYWAY, that was dangerous, intresting, sweet, romantic? I can't explain it, but that was the amazing part of the book. I think this book lacked some plot and talked more about connections, friendships,...more

Actually, the only reason I bought this book was just to complete my Blue Bloods series. I really enjoyed the first two books in the series, Blue Bloods and Masquerade, but I kind of lost my interest in the succeeding books because I got tired of Schuyler and Jack's love story. When I saw this Misguided Angel in Powerbooks, I decided to buy it hoping that it could redeem itself to me...

...And yes, IT DID!!!
Blue Bloods used to be my favorite book in the series, but now that I have read Misguided...more

The fifth book of Melissa de La Cruz's Blue Bloods series, Misguided Angel, just released this week. I've been looking forward to this book since I read the first four earlier this year.. and loved them. This book, however, was a disappointment. It was a mediocre filler book.

Why so bad? Well...The narration no longer alternates as frequently as it once did. I found myself bored following the same characters for long stretches of the storytelling when it once jumped between them so frenetically....more

I realize that this book begins to open more questions than answering them but I throughly enjoyed that because it kept you guesssing and it brought forth an element that hasn't been seen in a Vampire book before. It is quite interesting how Lucifer and the fallen angels have been tied to the human world and what they are in the process of accomplishing. It also begins to show how Schuyler is developing and why the other Vampires consider her an absolute abomination thanks to the ring leader Luc...more

I'm not really sure how I feel about this one considering it took me two years to read (judging by my Amazon purchase history), and that it's been a little more since I've even thought about the Blue Blood series.

It seems like in 200 odd pages nothing plot furthering happens till the very end. "Plotlines" we're drawn out when they really didn't have to be, adding unnecessary elements to the story that just made me feel like I was sent...more

Skyler liebt Jack. Jack liebt Skyler.

Against my better judgement and what the ratings and reviews, I picked this book up. Hoping it will finally answer some of my most pressing questions about the series but instead i found a big lump of NOTHING!

About the Book:
Although still connected, Misguided Angel follows two main story lines told by three different points of view. The first one involves Schuyler and her continuation of the Van Alen Legacy. She and Jack are now in Europe, trying to find the other hellgates. While searching, Jack and Schuyler come across a group of red bloods who supposedly are under orders from blue bloods to guard a hellgate, but something isn't quite right.

Meanwhile, Mimi is having her own issues as acting regent....more

I'm starting to lose my interest in this series, the first couple of books were fine and kept my attention but now I'm starting to feel the "meh" kick in. I actually stopped reading this book to start and finish "this is not a test"
Sometime I'm torn with books, some authors don't drag out the scenes enough so your swimming in an empty environment, but other authors take it the the extreme and carry on more about the surroundings then the scene itself.
I honestly could care less about the view a...more

Misguided Angel starts from where The Van Alen Legacy finished off. The opening pages see Jack and Schuyler, plotting their escape from the European Coven. Originally the Europeans gave the young lovers sanctuary from the New York coven, who want to see Jack killed after he abandoned his bonded mate to be with Schuyler instead, but the pair soon realised that they were prisoners rather than guests. Needing to complete their mission to find the Gate of Promise, Jack and Schuyler make a daring esc...more

This is a continuation of the Blue Bloods series by Melissa De La Cruz.

Schuyler Van Alen and Jack Force have finally committed to being together, even though by breaking his Bond with his sister Mimi practically signs his death warrant. They had been given sanctuary by the Countess Isabelle of Orleans of the Mediterranean Coven of Blue Bloods, but it felt like a luxurious confinement, as they had guards with them at all times they were away from the Countess' home. They also had a mission to f...more

he story starts like this: We are in Europe with Schuyler and Jack and they are being held captive by the European coven. They are planning their escape, and it doesn't seem so easy. While on the other side of the hemisphere we have a new ruler of the New York coven, none else than Mimi Force. New York must really be in a pickle. The latest? I'm almost half way done this book. So far, its really boring.

----> so i have finally finished this book and there are no words to describe how disappointed i am.

the first five books were amazing!

however this book kind of ruined the series.

----> I guess you can say that I'm in between loving it and totally hating it.

To be honest it wasn't that bad, but it wasn't that good at the same time...
the book needed something more to make it more interesting ....

I don't know why I keep reading these books. I guess I keep assuming that each one will be the last, when each one really is just a set up for another sequel. Enough with series already! Not just this one, all of them! I would much rather read an 1,000-page novel than several shorter works. I had forgotten a lot since reading the last Blue Blood novel. There are so many ridiculous aspects of the Blue Blood society to keep track of. I felt lost most of the time. I also felt at times like I was re...more

Things are getting more and more serious for the New York Coven of Blue Bloods. One of their number has been kidnapped, and rather there has been a threat that she will be burned alive. The problem is that no one seems to know who could possibly want to do this, and the Red Bloods directly bonded with the Blue Bloods are the most likely suspects. The questions is whether they really could do that.

Mimi Force, who has taken on the Regency of the Committee of Blue Bloods finds herself with some muc...more

Review of Blue Bloods Series collectively.

In A Nutshell:
Overall, this has been a series that I felt more drawn into as it progressed. After reading Blue Bloods, I was not sure I wanted to continue, but I did based on the recommendation of friends. I am so glad I did. As the series progressed, I found myself more and more drawn into the world that Melissa De La Cruz created. I found the characters complicated and interesting. The line between good and evil is being tested, explored and even chall...more

Oliver has let go. Schuyler and Jack are now together trying to complete the Van Allen Legacy.
Meanwhile back in NYC, new officials have been elected with non other than Mimi Force to lead them.
Mimi is mourning the loss of Kingsley, which leads her to team up with a most unlikely for an ally.
A video is released threatening the exposure of the blue bloods, as well as their downfall. While Mimi has to maintain the crumbling empire and at the same time keep these rumors to a minimum, she hires Demi...more

In this fifth book of the Blue Bloods Series, we still see the text divided between three female, lead characters, but, this time, each woman has her own section, something I much preferred. This way, the book felt more cohesive. Though, in a way, it could be argued that the set-up resembled that of three mini-novels in one, there was still the obvious ties that bound the three storylines together; de la Cruz merely set it up so that the reader could finish one thought, one character's point of...more
