Like Immortal, this collection of vamp short stories is mixed. First, the bad: "Bloodshed" by Claudia Gray. Again, not a fan of her writing. The narrator is a vampire lady who's been around for about 150 years, but has learned very little about reality. Here's a tip: People don't like being turned into vampires without their consent! It's a dirty trick! Mostly, she just annoyed me. "Say Yes" by Lili St. Crow is awesome, but it's basically a reworking of another story More...

One story gives good bite while others only nibble

As a follow-up to her first young adult anthology, editor P.C. Cast brings together six more short stories of vampire romance in Eternal: More Love Stories with Bite from some of the most popular young adult paranormal authors today, including Claudia Gray, Lili St. Crow, Nancy Holder, Heather Brewer, Rachel Caine, and Jeri Smith-Ready.

"Bloodshed" by Claudia Gray - Like her contribution in the first anthology, Gr More...

This second anthology edited by P.C. Cast has more of the vampire romance stories we love. Authors Rachel Caine, Claudia Gray and Nancy Holder make a second appearance in this anthology and are accompanied by Lili St. Crow, Heather Brewer, and Jeri Smith-Ready, all highly praised and sought after writers. A personal favorite in the collection is Nancy Holder’s “Letters to Romeo,” which reinvents the ultimate tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by giving Romeo eternal life as a vampire waiting for his fa More...

Another continuation in the "Eternal" YA anthology based on vampires.

"Bloodshed" by Claudia Gray: I read the first Evernight series a year ago, and I don't remember Patrice's character at all. However, I don't think that background is needed to enjoy this short story about Patrice and her human lover prior to his assignment to Germany during WWII. Gray skillfully fills in the blanks.

"Say Yes" by Lili St. Crow: I like the inclusion of how the ti More...

In my review for the companion anthology, Immortal, I said I wanted more anthologies of this kind in the future. Young Adult Paranormal Romance stories these may be, but they're dark and tinted with a reality I appreciate. Love doesn't conquer everything in these stories.

"Bloodshed" by Claudia Gray
Set in her Evernight Universe
Its a good idea to have read "Free" in Immortal because a lot of Patrice's actions are a direct consequence to the tragedy i More...

This is actually a 3.5 star book for me... Goodreads, why oh why don't you allow half stars in your ratings?

Bloodshed by Claudia Grey - Even though I have never read her Evernight Series, I did really enjoy this story. Enough to make me want to check out the series.

Say Yes by Lili St. Crow - This story was ok, a bit predictable. Not one of my favorites in this anthology.

Letters to Romeo by Nancy Holder - A different take on the Romeo/Juliet story... continuing aft More...

This is really a 4.5 star read. Sure wish GR would get the 1/2 star capability! There really wasn't a bad story in the whole book, though I liked Heather Brewer's story the least. Loved Rachel Caine's Morganville story about Eve & Michael, but I'm a Morganville junkie anyway. Jeri Smith-Ready has quickly become one of my favorite UF authors and she didn't disappoint with her story. Claudia Gray's story about Patrice was excellent and I don't really care for Lili St. Crow, but I even liked h More...

Short story collection with varying vampire themes. Drama Queen's Last Dance by Rachel Caine is a Morganville tale with Eve and Michael that confronts Eve's insecurity when confronted with a new vampire in town named Gloriana. Thief by Jeri Smith-Ready is a poignant tale of the insular Travellers as a physically challenged Liam Flynn and his underage fiancee Mary Cassidy are threatened with separation and must seek help from their vampire friends when all other avenues fail. The Other Side b More...

This book contains 6 short stories:

"Bloodshed" by Claudia Gray.
Interesting but not overly exciting.

"Say Yes" by Lili St. Crow
Not a bad little story with a twist.

"Letters to Romeo" by Nancy Holder
A creative take on Romeo and Juliet involving a vampire in modern times.

"The Other Side" by Heather Brewer
Awesome, awesome, awesome.....Very surprising ending :)

Eternal: More Love Stories with Bite is the follow up to yesterday's review of Immortal: Love Stories With Bite. P C Cast has gathered another group of talented authors in a collection of vampire-related stories. Claudia Gray, Rachel Caine and Nancy Holder also contributed to the first anthology, with Lili St. Crow, Heather Brewer and Jeri Smith-Ready rounding out the group.

The anthology opens with "Bloodshed--A Story of Evernight" by Claudia Gray. I've stated previously More...

Overall i think every story in this earned somewhat 5 stars

Bloodshed by Claudia Gray 4/5: It was a good way to start the anthology since the first book "immortal" ended with a story about patrice and this one started with her afterwards.

Say Yes by Lili St. Crow: 4/5 this one was my least favorite at of all of them. I dont really have reasoning. lol

Letters to Romeo by Nancy Holder: 4/5 this was a very creative continuation of Shakespeares Romeo and Ju More...

Originally, I was going to rate this lower because I was really unimpressed with the first half of the book. The second half, particularly the last 2 stories, raised my rating.

Claudia Gray's Bloodshed follows Patrice from the Evernight series. I didn't remember Patrice, besides the name being familiar, and I was unimpressed with the story. There really wasn't any action and it ended pretty suddenly.

Lili St. Crow's Say Yes I was really looking forward to. A girl can't More...

The thing I like about anthologies is you get to sample a lot of different writers' writing without having to commit to their series and risking it being a bad one. Thanks to these books, I've learned to stay away from any book by Lili St. Crow, whose Strange Angels series have interested me a few times but thankfully haven't picked up yet. I also think I won't be reading the Morganville Vampires series by Rachel Caine. But all in all the stories in here weren't so bad.

This book as the perfect follow up to Immoral, trailing some of the first stories but also introducing you to new ones. These stories are not only from the vampire point of view, but humans who love and have to deal with vampires on a daily basis. I thought the first book as amazing, but the second book was even harder to stop reading.

I feel kind of meh about this collection of short stories. While most were very well written I found that they weren’t really my thing. I did really like Jeri Smith-Ready’s story and the one by Claudia Gray but for the most part these stories just didn’t do it for me.

Eternal includes several short stories by leading YA authors focusing on vampires and the paranormal. I didn't know quite what to expect w/ this book, but since I liked several of the author's featured, figured it was worth a shot. And although I liked the majority of the stories, I was also dissapointed in some ways. I can't specifically say what dissapointed me, but I definately was looking for something more. Because of this, I would not necessarily recommend this book to others, especial More...
