Picture Me Perfect (Sammy & Friends #1)
by
Stormy Glenn
Troy Summers is a cop. He's recently been partnered with fellow police officer, Jamie Everson, and they get along great. He likes Jamie's brother, Nicky, even more.
When Nicky gets beaten up by his ex-boyfriend and comes to him for help, Troy can't say no, not when it brings Nicky right into his arms. Even still, Troy wants to take things slow with Nicky. He knows they have...more

Not quite my cup of tea. I liked the concept. The big burly cop with the younger sweet guy but this didn't really work for me. Not sure if it was the overall tone or the odd teenagerish ideas of sex but it fell flat. This was my first from this author, I may try another to see if this is just their style or was more limited to the type of series this was from.

If you want a story about men 'destined to be together', this is a good one for you. Like so many of Stormy's characters, Nicky (who likes making a home and is good at photography) and Troy (a cop) just know they belong together.
They are presented with their share of obstacles, however, before they can sit back and start the life they have both dreamed about. There's Nicky's abusive ex-lover who beats him up whenever he can find him. There's also the complication of Nicky's older brother Jamie w...more

Troy and Jamie are police officers partnered together. Nicky is Jamie's younger brother. When Troy meets Nicky, sparks fly. Nicky is getting out of an abusive relationship but his drug-dealing ex continues to stalk him. Nicky runs to Troy's place seeking safe haven and they fall in love.
My problem with this book? Nicky. Stormy Glenn made a big deal about how wrong it was for people (e.g. Jamie) to think less of Nicky because he was into "girly" things like sewing, cooking, and embroider...more

Nicky Everson, who is suffering abuse at the hands of his boyfriend, finds himself reaching out to his big brother's new work partner, Troy Summers, for help after yet another beating. Troy offers his help without question because Nicky is his partner's baby brother, and because he's incredibly attracted and drawn to the man. Troy allows Nicky to move in with him temporarily until he can get his life together, but in the process the two men explore the feelings they're quickly developing for one...more
This book was picked for me for the pick-it-for-me M/M Romance Group challenge. This was a pretty good book and I give it about 3.5 stars.
The flow of this book was pretty good and I liked Stormy Glenn's writing style. Nicky Everson is in a bad relationship. Abused by his live-in boyfriend, Nicky flees the apartment but has nowhere to go. Afraid to be judged by his brother, Jamie, a cop, Nicky turns to Jamie's new partner Troy Summers. Troy and Nicky met at a bar and it was love at first sight I...more

The action/suspense parts of the book were amazing. The rest...not so much.
I found Nicky to be so unbelievable. Part of it is my hatred of weak characters. No way did it seem like Nicky was...27 I think?
And the 'big bang' shootout was well done...until Nicky fired a shot at his ex WHILE PEOPLE WERE BEHIND THE EX.
The story felt like it could have been expanded upon so much, and also that it could have been shortened a lot. The characters went on these long speech/dialogues what were redundant and...more

Total fluffy read, with very stereo typical MC's and characters in the book, butit was a fun read.
Nicky liked to sew, embroider, cook but his brother and boyfriend belittle him because of it.
His bf turns out to be an abusive crook who beats up 3 times, now Nicky's brother and his new lover are both cops, so no Nicky doesn't get a restraining order, no he doesn't go to the hospital and have anything documented, he just moves from couch to couch trying to escape the baddy Bruce!

The story starts off with Nicky on the run from an abusive boyfriend and really never slows down. You are immediately drawn into his traumatic relationship and can't help but want to root for him. I loved Troy and how he so easily came to the rescue for Nicky. They were a great fit for each other and had good chemistry. Would have liked to have seen a bit more action between them but what there was, was pretty hot. There were a few unexpected twists and turns which made the story unpredictable w...more
This was not particularly memorable, but it was fun to read nonetheless. I have read several books by this author and the MCs tend to follow a pattern - a precocious twink and a big alpha-male - irrespective of the story.
Nicky likes to keep house, collects teapots and embroiders. He is desperate to meet his "Mr Right" but seems to settle too easily for "Mr Right Now". This desperation leads him into an abusive relationship.
Troy is a cop. When Nicky is made homeless by his ex, Troy takes him in...more

Picture Me Perfect is the prequel of Sammy Dane but it was released after so if you, like me, read Sammy’s story before, now you already know what is the conclusion of Troy and Nicky’s one, but in any case, this is a pure romance, and like that, it delivers what you are expecting.
There is a trend in Stormy Glenn’s stories, macho men lookalike but with a big tender heart who fall in love for little elflike men, who despite the diminishing look, are able to wrap the bigger men around their pinkies...more

Not exactly the book I was expecting based on the blurb - I should have read the reviews. I was expecting a more serious, reality based cop romance but this was rather light. Nicky was a fluffy character and it would have been good to see some more positive action taken in terms of the abuse scenario. Good for a quick read due to the action in the story but not much sex (book 2 in the series is better)
I loved first 2/3 of the book - it is sweet, it is light and it involves rescue. Just what I sometimes need. I would have given it 5 stars, but the last third of the book was so unrealistic in terms of behaviour, that it sapped my enjoyment of the book with every page I read.
Although if you generally like Stormy Glenn's books this one won't be any different.

the writing was horrible, the plot horrible and incredibly unbelievable, the characters were one-dimensional and the main character, Nicky was weak and annoying, he acted more like a teenager than a 27 year old. the cops didn't act like cops, and everything was over the top and unrealistic. this was a waste of time and money
This book was amazing. I loved the drama and the very sweet and adorable couple. I just wanted to put Nicky in my pocket and protect him. Another thing I loved was how hot Nicky was when he got pissed. Just a really great read. I would love to have a Troy in my life and to keep a Nicky for myself.
Not a book I would recommend. Reminded me of cheap porn. Minimal charachter development and not the most believable story. Felt like a rush to the sex scenes. If not for the bingo challenge I am participating I would not have finished this book. This may very well be the last Stormy Glenn book I read.
Lovely story about a cop falling for his partner's brother. Although they know instantly that they are meant to be together, their love builds through the story.
In serious need of editing.

typical stormy glenn romance. nothing fantastic, nothing so bad it can't be finished. what is typical stormy glenn? imagine a shorter harlequin romance but with no t&a (see, i was going to write no surprise pregnancies, but... yeah.).

It was okay...thin plot...I am becoming peeved with the big hulking alpha male and tiny fragile elfin submissive decorator story line...I just finished reading Carol Lynne's Cattle Valley Mistletoe (Cattle Valley, #2)and you can repleace the word decorator in my previous line with minister and you have the same MC descriptions.
