Without a doubt the best travel guide to Ukraine available. The author's years of experience living and traveling in the country are condensed into these pages. The result is an extremely informative travel guide that anyone in Ukraine will find invaluable. Unlike the Lonely Planet guide, this book will actually make you want to visit (and not just Kyiv and L'viv). Andrew Evans blends a wealth of information with a strong readable narrative which has a wonderful conversational tone. 'Ukraine' delivers far more than a straightforward guide. There's a lengthy section on the country's history, which is fascinating and before the reader even begins to read about the diverse places to visit, there are sections on geography, climate, politics, culture and more!
But even if the reader cuts to the chase and reads, say, the chapter on Vinnitsya, then the background

I used this book when traveling around Ukraine in June. It does a good job of taking you around the sights of major cities (I was in Odessa and Kiev).

Best Feature: Gives (somewhat) accurate pricing on what a taxi should cost going from the airport--invaluable when haggling!
