The Berenstain Bears and a Job Well Done by Jan & Mike Berenstain is part of the Living Lights series. First Mia's thoughts: I thought that the book had a good message: Do your chores before you take a break. I didn't know that the Bible talked about work, so it was kind of cool. My favorite pages was when Papa Bear caught Brother and Sister playing baseball, it was funny. Now my review. I was unaware that the Berenstain Bears offered a Christian line of books and was excited to read one. Th...more

MY REVIEW:

A Job Well Done is a another book in the Zonderkids Living Lights series featuring the Berenstain Bears with a spiritual emphasis.

In this book Brother, Sister, and Honey Bear learn about the importance of working hard. Mama and Papa Bear teach them with kindness and Bible verses. While it's a great little story and has biblical truth in it, the story is still a little shallow. However, like I've said with the other books in this series, it is still a decent book to read to your childre...more

It’s time for spring cleaning in Bear country and the Berenstain Bear family shows little readers how to do a job well. When Brother and Sister with the help of Honey, start to clean out their playhouse they get a little sidetracked when they find their baseball, bat and glove. This is a very cute story about following through, working hard and doing a job well. The book is full of colorful illustrations, easy to read print and will be a welcome addition to any child’s library.

I love the Berenstain Bears books from my childhood and I am so happy that they are continuing the legacy into the childhood of my own daughter. The Berenstain Bears and a Job Well Done is a great little story to help instill the values and importance of chores and accomplishments. Brother and Sister Bear want to have fun, but learning how much more fun they could have once the job is done is a great thing.

I hope the Berenstain Bears stories never end.
