Despite some small issues with believability, I really rather liked this series. There are only six volumes, but that's really all it needed to wrap up everything (except the romance...). The characters are cool, the premise is fairly interesting, and the romance is decent. Unfortunately, I wasn't exactly satisfied by the romance because it was resolved too quickly. The build up was nice, but then they seemed to just decide that all their differences weren't enough to keep them apart (without re...more
Bad things just keep happening to Mahiru Shiraishi.
Because of her unusual ability to take away her luck and it give to someone else whenever she touches them, she's always in the dumps.
Her parents died when she was young, her brand new clothes are always getting dirtied up, she gets pushed in the pool. All of this seems to connect to a strange dream that's she's always had about a demon boy and a Princess, singing a melody about betrayal that nobody but her seems to know.

As with any series with a large ensemble cast of characters, Crescent Moon takes a good chunk to introduce everyone and set the state. The prologue and first chapter go about introducing all the characters in a melodramatic and sometimes confusing fashion.
The heroine of the story is Mahiru Shiraishi who is a good luck charm for everyone except herself. She is also plagued by nightmares and visions of demons from an old song about an ill fated romance between a human princess and a demon.
