When seventeen-year-old Tiana moves to Hurricane, Utah, her comfortable world is turned upside down as she traverses the rough waters of adjusting to a small town and new school. Her father insists they were supposed to move here for some unknown, important purpose, and the voice in her head tells her not to argue. After resigning herself to being a miserable outcast, Tian

Ok, I have to admit, at first I was a little skeptical...BUT, when I got a few chapters into it, I had to finished reading to see what happened! I really liked this book, and finished it in one sitting. It was a fun, easy read. The author has a fantastic sense of humor that kept me smiling. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a fun, light read. Great new novel for ages 16+.

I'm not going to rate this book, but I will say this: Oh how I wish I could have gotten my hands on this book as an alpha reader so I could have given some feedback. I really don't want to hurt the author's feelings but no one is helped if honest feedback isn't given.
This book has SO much potential but I kept tripping over things that a couple of really good alpha readers could have solved. The best plot points & conflict were underemphasized. Even though the story is told in 1st person, Ti...more

Although the concept of this book holds potential and the research is interesting, I just couldn't get into this story. It's a Twilight copycat that takes place in Hurricane, Utah instead of Forks, Washington and with an alien instead of a vampire. The characters were shallow and too straightforward in their dialogue. If the book was stripped of all the tags attached to the dialogue telling me who was saying it, all the voices sound like they're being said by the same character. The 'leading man...more

To start off, I was very disappointed with this book. I am glad I didn’t spend money on this.
With the idea that I think the author was trying to express, it should have been good, but she veered off target frequently. The many likeness to the Twilight and Roswell series was blatant. The editor missed quite a few grammar issues as well.
I will say that this is a workable outline for a story that needs a lot work. The flat secondary characters and bipolarity of the main character were just annoyi...more

Over the Moon is about 17-year-old Tiana moving to Hurricane, Utah. At first she hates the idea of living there until she meets the handsome and perfect Andrew. Not only does he have the good looks and a great personality, but he is an alien. Tiana and Andrew have an instant connection and both feel like it was fate that brought them together. In the novel they face many obstacles. There were a lot of questions...more

An extraordinarily rich paranormal romance that is exquisitely atmospheric and beautifully written
This impressive, ambitious novel exceeded all expectations with its well-written narrative and compelling plot. Amid the delicate supernatural ambiance is an interwoven, multi-layered tale of impressive scope and sheer inspired vision. Remarkable and astonishing I was swept away by this deeply and profoundly affecting, emotive tale of eternal love that tugs at the heartstrings. Attractive characters...more

"Bring it on! We can deal with it. After all, we are star stuff!" This is a DIRECT quote I got from Over the Moon. In hindsight I have now idea what compelled me to buy this book. Besides

Over the Moon surprised me! I fell in love with the cover on Goodreads, but I didn't expect it to turn out this good! Diane Daniels did a very good job with her first novel!
I was hesitant to pick this up at first because I thought it would be to science ficton-y. That really wasn't the case. The are some fables about the stars, which I thought was pretty cool! Their wasn't as much talk as I thought their would be about astronomy, still some, but not much. Believe it or not the novel is more abo...more

¿Qué bonita portada, no creen?

The author might as well have used all the names mentioned in Twilight, and I mean all of them. And what the heck, why not throw in the setting in there too.
Over the moon had a lot potential. There were times in the book where I was engrossed in learning all about the extraterrestrial and Andrew Martins' world. It was the only part of the story that was thought provoked. I could care less about Tiana...the only dialog that came from her was,
"The bell rang, and he was gone. How did he manage to g...more

I really really really wanted to like this book. I have been enamored with the concept of a "human girl falling in love with an alien" ever since I saw Earth Girls Are Easy in the 80s. But the plot seemed too much like too many other books on the market right now. Girl meets boy, boy harbors secret, girl and boy fall in love, boy's secret endangers girl...you get the picture. If you like this formula, then you will probably like this book. For me it was just too much déjà vu. My other issue with...more
Finished this book though I though I wouldn't. WAY too much like Twilight and too many self- depricating thoughts from the mane heroine "I'm not worthy thoughts..." It feels more like a middle grade romance to me not sure YA or adults would like it. Started out okay but then about five chapters in started going downhill for me.
This one kept my attention, but it follows the Twilight arc pretty closely- boy and his family is mysterious (they sit at their own table in the lunch room); they seem otherworldly- more attractive, can read minds, etc; but he's keeping a secret from her. In this case he's an alien and saves the earth from hostile aliens who end up capturing our heroine. Also both authors are from Utah, this story is set in Utah and the romance is very chaste (no premarital sex, etc).

Alright... So let me just start of by saying that I'm all about aliens, I saw Avatar... LOVED IT! This didn't quite do that for me. It was however a quick and easy read that was pretty enjoyable. Tiana was as fleshed out as I wanted her to be and it seemed like a lot of her emotions just kind of fell flat for me. On a brighter note I thought the romance was sweet and the book overal was a plesant suprise... just not my cup of tea. I think this would be better aimed towards a younger audience.
The book was basically a spin on Stephanie Meyer's book, Twilight. Except, no vampires, just aliens. Definitely not the most original book I have ever read. Also, you can tell the author is an English Professor by the fact that sometimes she utilizes rather large and uncommon words. Although this may be beneficial to those who are working on expanding their vocabulary, the usage of large words whose meanings are at times hazy distracts the reader from the book itself.
This one had so much potential, but failed to deliver. The pacing was wrong, the story line a little uninteresting and at times comical (not in a good way). I hate giving books a bad rating, but this one was unpolished and read like a bad draft of a book.
If you want a brilliant book about sizzling romance and Aliens (which is what I think this one was trying to acheive) then I suggest you read Obsidian by Jennifer L.Armentrout.

This book was written by a local here in Southern Utah! Set in windy Hurricane Utah, this book is pretty good once you get into it. It has A LOT of similarities from Twilight, but if you can look past that I think you will enjoy it! I hear a sequel is in the works. After reading it a second time I noticed a lot of it is very descriptive, a little to much really. But overall a good story.
I enjoyed the story and it was a quick, easy read, but I admittedly kept thinking of the many similarities to Twilight. The conflicts weren't given enough time to build before they were resolved, and I kept predicting what would happen next! Therefore, it didn't draw me in and I was rarely dying to find out what would happen next.

I love Diane's humor! This book was written by a friend of mine and I was able to read a draft before it was published. This is a fun, clean book that clean romance lovers will enjoy.
Just a tad to much twilight for me.. But with aliens.. And a pseudo Christian feel.
