I really enjoyed this book, but then again I love a good scandal with a devilish hot wicked man, so this one hit the spot. This book gave me a mystery, emotions, excitement and lots of suspires. I just really wish I would have read the first novel, because the first part was a little confusing, then I caught on and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.

Continuing on with the Lords of Vice series with book two Till Dawn with the Devil.

Let's see what's the story is about:

The story starts off with a 19 year old Gabriel Addison Housely, the Earl of Rainecourt (aka Reign) arguing with his wife. It was an unhappy marriage from the start. Beatrice plan to make her escape from Rainecourt, but was unable to due to her accidental death.

Eight laters, Reign had sworn off innocent women, but a little flash of blue r...more

Book two in a the Lords of Vice series, TILL DAWN WITH THE DEVIL is one of those rare blends of sweet, sexy, funny, suspenseful, and likable. The heroine is never TSTL (Too Stupid To Live), and the hero doesn’t cruelly seduce her for his own benefit outside of marriage, ruin her reputation, and then be pig-headed about “not wanting to commit." Plus, the villain's sinister, unexpected, and awesomely dangerous. Not to mention crazy.

The book follows Lady Sophia, a young noble woman enjoying her Sea...more

This is the second book in Ms. Hawkins’ Lords of Vice series, and sometimes second books are a bit of a letdown after a great start by the first out of the gate. Not so in this case. I actually like this book better than the debut of the series, All Night with a Rogue. The characters are intriguing and I really like the storyline behind our hero and, thus, our heroine as it’s unveiled how they are unfortunately connected through tragedy.

Reign is tired of being shunned and gossiped about since hi...more

TILL DAWN WITH THE DEVIL is the first book I’ve read by this author and it won’t be the last. Sophia is a unique heroine and the mix of her strength, independence, and vulnerability pulled me in from the first page. Sophia is not a heroine that you read about every day and her uniqueness drew me to her. Gabriel was equally three-dimensional, though a somewhat typical hero. By this I mean, a strong man, who shuts himself off when he’s accused of a crime he didn’t commit.

I did have some other mino...more

I loved this story. OMG, I dropped everything the moment Till Dawn with the Devil arrived on my doorstep. I began reading it the moment I tore through the manila envelope and didn't stop until I finished every single solitary delicious and seductive word six hours later. I know what you're thinking. The woman is crazy. I would tend to agree but for the sheer fact that I can almost guarantee that once Till Dawn with the Devil is in your hands you will devour every sexy and intriguing morsel of th...more

The first Alexandra Hawkins book I've read, I have to say that I was overall pleased with the book. While I can't claim she's my favorite writer of all time, and that I have to rush out and buy every book she's published right now, I can say that I did enjoy her work. Having read a couple books lately that have been completely horrid, it was refreshing to find a book that I did enjoy.

I can't find myself to give this story 5 stars, but since I was pleased, as I said, I feel that 3 stars is too lo...more

I like this book a lot more than the previous one in the series All Night With A Roguebut I cannot give it more than 4 stars because it was lacking in some aspects.

Like the previous book, the grammar left something to be desired. When I'm reading a published book that went through the process of editing, then proofreading, and people read ARCs of it giving it ample chance to the publishing house to catch mistakes that were missed I just cant tolerate typos. I can't. They annoy me like you have

Gabriel "Reign" Housely, the Earl of Rainecourt (so why couldn't his nickname be "Rain?") has been under a cloud of suspicion since his first wife died while she was pregnant. That doesn't help the scandal that his father killed another woman and her husband before turning the gun on himself.
When he encounters Lady Sophia at a ball, he is instantly attracted. What he doesn't realize is that her eyesight is severely damaged from a childhood accident. Oh, and she's the daughter of th couple his f...more

This one had every cliche. First the hot Earl Reign and his friends, Sin, Vane, Hunter, Frost, Saint. They are founders/members of a private club where they can drink and wench and gamble.....da ta da dah THE LORDS OF SIN!!! (sounds like a 1950's NYC street gang)

Reigh has a dark past imagine that, but he finds himself drawn to the innoscent nealy blind Lady Sophia. Why is she blind you ask well she was coshed on the head as a child after witnessing her parent brutal murder at the age of six. Who...more

Reign and Sophia kept me smiling. I like how Alexandra brought these two together even though everything they know about each others past should keep them apart. Reign knew he wanted Sophia and when the opportunity arose, he jumped at the chance to make her his wife, even though he didn't think he would ever remarry. Sophia trusts her instincts and agrees to marry him. The fact that he publicly and intentionally compromises her, and she lets him, just adds to the humor these two share. There are...more

Gabriel Housely, the Earl of Rainecourt, or “Reign” is welcome at ton events, but that doesn’t stop people from gossiping about him. Eight years ago, his pregnant wife was found dead in her room, with a broken neck. Although most believe it to be a tragic accident, there are those that think Reign is guilty.

Lady Sophia is tired of feeling like a burden to her two brothers Henry and Stephan. Her parents were murdered when she was six in an apparent murder-suicide and during the attack, she was st...more

Unfortunately I did not love this book. I actually had a hard time finishing it. The story line itself is fairly interesting.Lady Sophia Northam has very limited eyesight. She was injured in an accident during the night of her parents murder. She has come to London with her two despicable brothers and it is here that she meets Reign, the Earl of Rainecourt. Reign's father is the man who murdered Sophia's parents and then committed suicide. A very intriguing plot - I was in, all in and ready to re...more

Review: The Earl of Rainecourt (Reign) has survived many scandals in his life. He has worked hard to gain his reputation as a ladies man. Lady Sophia tries to avoid society because of problems with her vision. Lady Sophia’s brother plans to marry Sophia off in order to pay some debts. Together Sophia and Reign must find a way to overcome a terrible shared past and build a future together. The book is just that melodramati...more

I read all the books out of order & it did not matter. This one was my least favorite out of the 3 so far in the series.

Reign sees a pretty girl at a dance. He folows her, dances with her, takes her outside & kisses her. Her brother catches them & yells at her because of a family issue between the 2. He realizes who she is and leaves. He can't stop thinking about her, and so on and so on. Twist at end happens & everything ends great.

It was a great book, and I couldn't put it dow...more

My first book from the author. Didn't enjoy it. The only thing I found interesting enough was the nicknames of Lords Of Vice:
Sin, Reign, Dare, Vane, Hunter, Saint, and Frost.

I enjoyed this book much more than the dirst in the series. Most of thefocus remained on the main couple for most of the book.

While I found the Lords of Vice's nicknames less annoying this time, I still find them trite.

I really liked that Sophia, while acknowledging her disability, compensated amd didn't allow it to get her down. She was a strong woman no matter what life, or her brothers dealt her.

Although I hated the way her brothers treated her, I really liked that they came together in the...more

These books are about a 3 to 4 hour read. I enjoyed the relationship between Reign and Sophia. These books are more just fun romps. Raine's life has been filled with his father murdering the Ravenshaw's, his wife and child being found with her neck broken in her room. Eight years later, he sees Sophia Northam across a ballroom and is instantly drawn to her. Sophia, was brutally attacked the night her parents died, and was left partially blind. When Reign finds out who Sophia is he maintains he m...more

The 2nd book of the Lord of Vice. I gave this a 4 stars. I really liked it. The story between the h/h is a page turner. The twist of the story is a good one. It is not the usual story line that we are reading, the slight damaged Lady Sohpia has a good addition to the story. I don't want to stop reading this story. I liked the author on how she write her stories because it is fast, no turns and sides that will get you boring. Hoping the 3rd book, will not disappoint me. I am still looking forward...more

Jeez! This was a hard read.

The idea of The Lords of Vice was genius. The names--Sin, Reign, Vane, Hunter, Saint and Frost, especially Frost--were genius. In some way, they're like the Cynsters from Stephanie Laurens' books.

If this book was written better, it could've had 5 stars. But the pace was too fast. Hawkins should've added more details to tie her chapters up. Even the lovemaking scenes were BORING.

I think she can portray a character well like Frost's distinct personality. But unfortunat...more

Great addition to the Lords of Vice series! This book is about Gabriel 'Reign' Housely. His finds that he will do anything for Lady Sophia. There past goes back to a triple murder between both families. They are unlikely pair that will take your breath away.

Positives:
*Reign is a great strong character. He is the silent and steady type but very protective.
*Sophia is an amazing character. She was left mostly blind from the incident while she was little. She is a strong character who doesn't believ...more

This is the second book in the Lords of Vice series and I have to say that Sophia is one of my favorite female characters in this series. I did find this one a more enjoyable read than the first one and is one of my favorite books in this series.

This is the first book I've read in the Lords of Vice series and it works as a standalone. I enjoyed it with some minor reservations (don't want to give any spoilers!) The ending left me with a smile on my face though, so I recommend it. Just when I thought the plot would be predictable, the author threw a curveball that reminded me of some crazy scene from Daphne duMaurier's "Rebecca." The next book in the series looks good too!

Alexandra Hawkins is an unrepentant Anglophile who discovered romance novels as a teenager and knew that one day she would be writing her own. In "The Lords of Vice" series, she has combined her love of English history, mythology, and romance to create sensual character-driven stories that, she hopes, will touch readers' hearts.
