This author surprises me. I don't know why I expect this series to be blah but I did. And it's not. It's a surprisingly well developed world with all kinds of gods and goddesses, all manner of demons and creepy crawlies. And though it took a good while for the couple to get to even meet and interact a lot, the end conflict was intense, the love passionate and tender. The sex is HOT!

There were a few parts that I skimmed...lots of lagging action, and I felt like much of the internal dialogue coul

The hunt for Lokan's killer and the search for his body continues in this second installment of Eve Silver's Otherkin series. This book picks up just days after the last one left off. Dagan, Alastor and Mal are no closer to figuring out who killed their brother. But they haven't given up.

Alastor is following a lead when his path first crosses with Naphré. She is a Topworld Assassin who has turned her back on her heritage as a Daughter of Aset... the sworn enemies of Alastor's father, Sutekh, the

This one starts off shortly after the first books cliffhanger. In this one we are reading the romance between two reluctant characters, Alastor and Naphré. Two characters who find it hard to trust in another and in their surroundings. Both are bound by certain paranoia and a need for control. This draws them together but also keeps them at arms distance. So, quite a bit of the book is very frustrating, however it does make sense.

As fast paced as the first book was, I was expecting the same from

Sins of the Soul is the 2nd book in the Otherkin trilogy. It tells the story from Alastor Krayl's perspective. He and his brothers continue to try to find their lost brother's soul before it's too late and the one(s) that were somehow able to kill him.

Alastor and Naphré first cross paths at a club entrance, she's leaving and he's arriving. His battle with himself over his attraction to her is entertaining and by the end, you are happy to find they are good match for each other.

Silver continues in the Otherkin Trilogy with the second installment, featuring Soul Reaper brother Alastor. Alastor and his brothers are still on the hunt for their murdered brother, doing their best to unravel the few clues they were given. When Alastor is pointed in the direction on Naphré's mentor, he follows her to try and find out if she is a witness to the murder of his brother, or if she was involved with the killers.

I couldn't put this book down! I'm waffling between giving it 4.5 or 5 stars based on reading despite the headache, popping Alleve, and ignoring hunger pains. Although, I'm not sure it ranks up there with Magic Strikes by Ilona Andrews.

Sins of the Soul, book 2 in a trilogy, continues with the search for Lokan's killer(s). Who is the the Big Bad? Will Lokan be returned to his body? The politics, the intrigue, the conspiracy, not to mention the compelling characters have me totally hooked in the

This was the second book in the Otherkin series. I honestly found it a bit weak in writing style compared to the first book. There was too much emphasis on the sexual aspect again and to me, that just takes away from what would be a great paranormal story. The plot twist toward the end with Izanami did take me by surprise. I do no want to give anything away but lets just say familial issues are brought to light with regards to another character. I found that to be the coolest part of the entire ...more

This is Alastor's story about the struggle to find his brother's body, soul, and killers. He is one of four brohters that are soul reapers, well one is dead. They need to find him and reconnect his body and soul for reannimation.

This is the second installment in this Otherkind series. Like the first book, the concert of gods, demons, and other magical beings living in a lower dimension is facinating. Most seem to be Egyptian gods but there are a few other religions in the mix too. None the less

This was an excellent book. The writing is so descriptive I could tell ES had an anatomy bcakground. Totally descriptive of wounds, cuts burns etc. She is an excellent writer, but characterization lacks for me. ONLY on the female heroine side though.

I have 3 minute problems that bug me. It's my own quirp, so I cannot take it away from the book.

1: The cover models are ugly. Not at all descriptive of the character in the book. If there is a discrepancy, always go for a headless model. Writers don

Eve Silver doesn’t just paint a pretty picture with her prose. Her descriptions will bring you in to the Otherkin world, will evoke strong emotions. Her words can cut, can overwhelm and can bring butterflies to your stomach. In other words, I love reading her books because during the time from cover-to-cover I feel like I’m in another world. An impressive skill, and a damn good reason for readers to pick up her novels.

We finished Sins of the Heart with the death of a traitor, and we start Sins of the Soul the same way, just in a different perspective.

Alastor, Dagan’s brother, is determined like his brothers to find Lokan’s parts to put him together and find out who the hell is his murderer or is plotting everything. They still suspect the Setnakhts have not only a finger, but a whole hand in this story, and the fact that they keep bumping into people fro

This is such a fun, mysterious, and engaging series. Each book is about one of the brothers and they are trying to find out who killed brother number 4, Lokan, to seek vengeance, and possibly bring him back. This book was centered around Alaster. We still get to see glimpses of Dagan and Roxy, who were the leads of the last book, which was great since I completely loved them!

Alaster was a great character. He was flawed and insecure in some ways, but also strong and completely yummy! He missed an

Lokan Krayl, soul reaper and youngest son of Underworld god Sutekh, has been murdered. His death has rocked his brothers, incensed them, infuriated them...confused them. Lokan, like his brothers, are demigods. It isn't supposed to be possible for them to be killed.

His death has changed...everything.

Alastor, second son of Sutekh, is of one mind with his remaining brothers. Find Lokan's remains. Locate his Ka - his soul. Bring. Him. Back. Oh yeah...and find the per

I don't think the subsequent books in this series can be stand-alone novels because the over-arching plot is still being dealt with and in fact has not concluded even at the end of this novel.

We first meet Alastor in the previous book and know that he is one of Sutekh's (God of Chaos) sons. He is the second born son and of the four sons of Sutekh only he and Dagan shared the same biological mother. Sutekh fathered four boys, sending them away to be raised by different families with the exception

Sins of the Soul is a pure paranormal delight! Silver creates sexy soul-sucking heroes and ruthless heroines for an irresistible combination! Fans of Gena Showalter or Kresley Cole will enjoy Silver’s dark humor and passionate characters.

Beginning right where Eve Silver’s previous release Sins of the Heart leaves off, we join the Krayle brothers in the search for their brother Lokan’s killer. Born of a human woman an underworld god know as Sutekh, the brothers are used to traverse between worlds

Sins of The Soul is the second book in the Krayl brothers trilogy. This was an easy read from start to finish with plenty of action in between. The interactions between tough Alastor and mouthy Naphre will definitely keep you turning page after page. Eve has a way of making the conversations extremely believable and laced with witty comments. Alastor being English adds a depth to his personality and upbringing. Not to mention plenty of arse comments throughout the book.

This is the second book in Eve Silver's 'Otherkin' series and, IMO, didn't quite measure up to 'Sins of the Heart'. While it's evident that Silver has an plan for how this series is going to play out, this book felt a lot like filler and (I don't think) we gained a lot of important insight into the overall story.

This book focuses on Alastor Krayl, the second of the four soul reaper sons of Sutekh. In the last book, we learned that the youngest son, Lokan, has been murdered and the th

This is the second book in Ms. Silver’s Otherkin Trilogy and it picks up immediately where Book #1, Sins of the Heart, finishes. This book centers on Alastor Krayl, the second son of Underworld Egyptian god, Sutekh. The story focuses on Alastor’s committed drive to discover who murdered his youngest brother, in hopes of reanimating his lost soul. This mystery started in Book #1 and does not finish here.

Alastor meets Naphre quite by accident, but is immediately drawn to her. He survives in the ha

More well-paced than the first book, but some things still seemed to take forever to happen. And while I understand the concept of switching POVs during chapters to heighten the suspense, sometimes it just didn't work as well, especially when it's not consistent. For example, this book is centered around Alastor while the first book was centered around his brother Dagan. Yet in this book there was a very jarring moment where we had a chapter told from Dagan's POV but it seemed to be the only ins ...more

This is Book 2 of a trilogy of which I didn't read book 1, but I was able to follow along despite the complex cast of characrers that seem to have made up Book 1.

What I liked most were the very unusual settings (diverse realms of multiple deities below ground and above)and highly creative beings and backgrounds woven into the story. Very refreshing to find something other (ha!) than the numerous vampires or UK settings out there.

What I liked least was the 'You've got to be kidding' cover. Mostly

Sins of the Soul takes up exactly where Sins of the Heart ends but brings Alastor up to bat and adds ex-Daughter of Aset, Naphre Kurata into the mix. Historically Sutekh and Aset have been enemies but things have begun to change with Dagan and Roxy leading the way. Now we have Alastor and Naphre in the cross hairs. Alastor is searching for information about his brother Lokan's murder while Naphre is just trying to stay alive after someone put a hit on her. The attraction is instant though fought ...more

Not perfect but still a good read and I'm definitely caught on finding out who their brother's murderer is. I almost feel that the romance is secondary to the main story and at times I want to to skip reading sections just to get to more interesting parts.

The ending for this book was a surprise as I flipped over a page and realised I had already read the last sentence, so perhaps too abrupt an ending.

It does feel like the author has to finish the story within a certain number of pages and gets

I was afraid that the second book would be too familiar with the first one. As in: same story, different characters. I feared boredom. Did she repeat a lot of things? Maybe, but in my opinion she used a lot of the same phrases in the beginning so that someone who have skipped 'Sins of the Heart' would still know what's up in this one.

Alastar is no Dagan and I fell head over heals for Dagan. But Alastar is simply the brother you have to adore. I love the world that Eve Silver has created. But fo

I had my hopes up for this book - being that it's the 2nd of the series. The 1st book usually gets a lower rating from me since it's just getting to know the characters. However, I cannot pinpoint what it is about this book that I just could not get in
