Great book! Had to stay up late until I finished it...
This is the first book I've read by Sue Duffy, but I will definitely be looking for some more of hers.

I really enjoyed this clean Christian suspense. Since I live in Florida, the location and premise of the story was of special interest to me. It captured my interest at once with tension, excitement, twist and turns. There were plenty of surprises and likable characters.
The Christian message was there in the actions of the characters and did not detract from the story. It got a bit heavy in the very end but not too much.
The theme of family was brought out well and throughout.
I think it is good

Sue Duffy has written a book laced with tension, excitement, and subterfuge. Andie Ryborg is in danger because her father is running for governor of the state of Florida on a very strong anti-drug campaign and the drug lords are out to make certain that he is not elected. Consequently, Andie's life has been threatened and she has been forced into hiding. In spite of the fact that Andie has been assigned protection, she still senses that someone is watching her. Her home is invaded and her privac ...more

I received a free copy through first reads.

The premise of the story is excellent. The tangled web of characters and who they are was wonderful. There were a few red herrings that were not who I was expecting them to be. I was a little let down on who the leak inside the police department ended up being, even though who it was made sense.

Some of the story could have been developed more. Some of the relationships left me wanting more, much of the characters left me wanting more information, more

"Fatal Loyalty" is a fast-paced Christian romantic suspense novel--though the romance happened a bit fast and near the end. The world-building was very good and brought the setting alive in my imagination. The characters were likable, realistic, and had realistic struggles.

After a bit of a rocky start, the suspense built nicely and kept me turning the pages. The first two "danger!" scenes got the reader to the "there's danger!" point--for example, a masked man in the window--then cut to another

Fatal Loyalty is a book about Tony Ryborg running for governor of FL, his fight against drugs, death threats, his daughter’s safety issues, and Evan Markham’s involvement with the drug lords and the Ryborgs.

Sue Duffy takes you though a fast-paced thriller of the dangers of drug lords and those who oppose them. Throughout the book, I find that the choices we make determine the course of our lives, good or bad. Some are split-second choices and you need to have wisdom.

The underlying question, alth

FATAL LOYALTY is a political drama with many twists and turns. Andie Ryborg’s father, Tony Ryborg, has been in politics long enough to ruffle the feathers of Leo Francini, crime boss and drug trafficker. Leo, has had enough of Tony’s interference and decides to target his daughter, Andie as a way of getting Tony to step down from his zero tolerance stance on drugs. A stubborn Andie refuses to be bullied or allow her father to throw away his political career. What ensues is an up and down drama o ...more

First, let me say, when a novel takes place in present time, I think I expect more realism out of it and I'm a bit more critical of the storyline and the characters. With that said, this story takes place in present day Florida and centers on a drug cartel and politics. When dealing with these subjects, I expected a more "gritty" type of novel. Instead, the storyline seemed far-fetched at times, and a little too goody-goody.

The characters were likable, but I wanted more development and realism.

ok... This is COMPLETELY different than what I normally read.. but to tell the truth... I REALLY liked it. I was suprised.. its a Christian Mystery for goodness sakes and anyone that has ever taken a look at my shelves knows what I mean.. but... it had me hooked and wanting to "know" what was going to happen.. like now.

I had a hard time getting into it at the begining but then I was reading through it so fast because I wanted to know what happ

Fatal Loyalty is the second book I've read by Sue Duffy. It had some suspense and romance - which I liked. The characters were nice and I really liked Evan.

There were a few things in Fatal Loyalty that I did not see coming and I love when books surprise me. While the writing was not that great to me and the story didn't grab my attention like other books have, I'm still glad I took the time to read it. The only real negative I have is the ending - it seemed a little too abrupt. If you like suspe

In Fatal Loyalty, Sue Duffy takes her readers on an amazing fast-paced ride. This is a Christian suspense of dangerous drug lords and those who would try and stop them. Fatal Loyalty is incredible Christian suspense read will thrust the reader into the midst of deceptive appearances where truth is disguised and loyalties must be questioned because nothing is what it seems. Sue infuses this story with a deep faith in God and prayer for protection, and that faith is vital throughout the fast-chang ...more

This book was a Goodreads giveaway. I waited nearly 12 weeks for it to arrive. It was worth the wait! A drug lord is threatening the family of a gubernatorial candidate. His son joins him in terrorizing the adult daughter, only so that he can discover the plans and thwart his father. A faith in God, great investigative skills of the Florida police system, and a few quirks to beat the drug cartel. It doesn't have the perfect happily ever after ending, nor does it imply the cartel was defeated. We ...more

Won this in a giveaway, YESSS!!

Haha, I didn't realize this was a Christian novel when I won it. But I tried to disregard this.

The story was weaker than I thought it would be. The characters were very on the surface. The twists were good and it was an enjoyable read, but I felt like the author could've delved deeper. The third-person allowed the author to go through all the characters and give them perspectives but I didn't know any of them all that well. I felt like I was just reading a set

Andie can't live a private life due to her father's run for governor and his campaign promises to put drug lords out of business. She must run to stay safe but it's hard to hide from a powerful crime family. Throw in some romance, family secrets and you have the makings of a good suspense drama.
Be sure to stop by my blog ( ) on 17 June to read the first chapter.

I could have done without the Christian pushes in the book. But they weren't over the top. I liked the family secrets that get revealed and the characters seem to be good, strong individuals. Even the villain gets redeemed by the end, I would actually like to catch up with Andie and about 5 to 10 years down the road.

LOVED this book!!!! So many unexpected twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat eager to see what came next. I always love a good action book wher I don't have to worry about language, etc. This book definitely fit the bill! The message of God's love and forgiveness is unmistakable. Can't wait to read more by this author!!

I loved this book. The characters were so believable and the story was taken from today's world. I loved the fact the author shows that no one is too gone from God's love and forgiveness.
