I just finished reading "Indigo Summer", by Monica Mckayhan. This book was awesome and i enjoyed readingit. Indigo Summer is fifteen years old and her best friend, Jade just moved away because it was hard for her mothr to pay the rent and her parents divorced, which was also very hard for her. Indigo missed her, but she was happy to have the perfect and popular boyfriend and his name is Quincy. After about two weeks of them going out, Indigo realized that he was not a good or supportive boyfrien...more

This book reminds me of other Kimani Tru books i have read in the series. It all involves teenage drama and what happens when teens face issues dealing with love, relationships, family and life. While reading this book i thought it going to be about a boy and a girl having problems within their relationship but there was more added to it. T he characters are Indigo and Marcus. They have been friends since the second grade and marcus actually likes indigo out she didnt have a clue. So her freshma...more

This series and the Bluford High series are the most popular series with 7th and 8th grade girls in my junior high library. I appreciate both series for their lack of profanity and their realistic writing that attracts the kids, but this series is far superior in the writing style. I have only read the first book in this series, but I've had to buy mulitiple copies of all the books- can't keep them on the shelves. Great series for teens, though I have several faculty members who read them as well...more
This was an good book. I really liked this book that I couldnt put it down. This book reminds me of "Problem Solved" because they both are about the characters life, there teen life, Also the two charaters both have problems in high school thta they have to go through. And as for me reading this book it made me wonder about Indigo and Qunicy's realtionship, Like will he stay faithful to her? Is he good enough for her.And what really pushed me to read this book is to found out was Indigo ansd Marc...more
i wouldn't nessacarily say that i learned anything that i didnt already know from the book but i liked it and it kept my interested. i finished it in 2 days. thats a new record because i have never read a book that quick. though 1 time a read a judy moody book in one night but that was in 3rd grade. i have never read a more advanced book that quicky. i have already read trouble follow, but i am waiting to find the pact.
This was a little bit slow in he drama. All I read was just the events happening in life like day by day. Also as far as her and quincy was concerned it seemed to me they didnt even like each other,Indigo was trying to be grown up with her first boyfriend. Oh yeah that reminds me, the author sort of paints her as a misguided child to me.

When she starts to notice her new next door neighbor things change. When she decides she's not yet ready to have sex, her oh so popular boyfriend isn't willing to wait until she is ready so dumps her...more

My niece came home with a handful of the Kimani series and I picked up one just to check on what she was reading.
So far, this book is not too bad.
