No strings. No regrets. And no going back.

I didn't think he wanted me. And I wasn't about to get involved with him, not after what I'd heard. Sure, Alex Kennedy was tall, dark and unbearably hot, but I've been burned before. When I solicited him to model for my erotic photography book, I didn't expect such a heated, passionate photo session. And now that we've crossed that...more

Ok I waitied ages to read this, the anticipation nearly killed me, it arrived one morning earlier this week and before I knew it I read the whole bloody thing...all that waiting and it was over in a couple of hours, and now I'm left with that post 'fantastic book' depression that I always get when I've read something that I'd like never to finish.

So I guess it's pretty obvious that I loved the third book in the Alex Kennedy story. I was epecting one thing and Ms Hart threw me a blinder and wrote...more

Naked is loosely connected to Megan Hart's book Tempted. It continues with Alex Kennedy meeting Olivia Mackey the morning after a Holiday celebration. It turns out that Alex needs a place to stay for a few months and Olivia has an apartment she can rent out to him while he is in town on business. Both are attracted to each other but Olivia is very hesitant to become involved in a relationship with a man who might swing both ways. She was already hurt once by her former fiancé Patrick who finally...more

I feel like I've waited forever to read Alex's story!!! I loved his character in Tempted, I fell in love with him, flaws and all, and I wanted to see him get his HEA. This was a great story all around by Ms. Hart, even though not as emotionally draining perhaps as I was expecting from her.

Alex Kennedy... where do I start? He is a tormented bad boy, he's struggled with who he was, with his family and how they view him, how he interacts with others, and hi...more

Nothing about this felt casual.
Just the opposite, in fact. It felt like it meant too much.
This night. This man.

I was so ecstatic when I finished Tempted and saw that the story continues and that we get Alex's story (one of the main characters in Tempted)in Naked,so there wasn't a question for me which book should I read next. Even though I liked his HEA Olivia, I was a bit disappointed, because the story wasn't from his point of view. In the end it felt that it was more her story than his.

He is...more

I almost always use a blurb from Goodreads or Amazon to summarize the story then just jump into my thoughts. But check out these two different blurbs for the book. The first is from the summary on NetGalley:

Oh, thank heavens!! Hooray!!! I love Megan Hart's books, but this was such a special treat!

I have always been a fan of the arrogant Alex--even when he is an ass...a whore...a total scoundrel--love him!

Once again, this was a rather disturbing read.
To be honest, at one point (around page 70), I just felt this was too much baggage, too weird, for me to be able to relate to the heroine and to enjoy the story. I put it back on the virtual shelf and read something else before picking it up again.
Megan Hart's trademark is that she knows how to give depth to characters through an accumulation of small anecdotes and thus succeeds in creating unforgettable characters. Problem is sometimes they are not...more

Naked started just fine.Or almost just fine.It was kinda shocking to see Alex being his gay self and not the bi he actually is.Then he says that he hasn't had sex with a woman since Anne and it shows once more his feelings about her.
Patrick,Olivia's ex-fiance and currently Teddy's boyfriend and her friend(it turned out that he was gay after all),warns her to stay away from Alex and says to Alex the same thing about her.He is acting like a jealous boyfriend during pretty much every scene he is in...more

3-1/2 Stars. Kept my interest, but had some "flow" problems from one scene to the next. This is the audiobook version, and although I generally like this reader, she strangely gave characters (that she didn't do the voices for) from some of Hart's other books, voices that wouldn't make you like or recognize anything like they were in their own books (huh?!?). And ... they WEREN'T attractive voices: They sounded like they were in "slow-mo." Bizarre!

Alex Kennedy is one quirky dude! I sometimes wo...more

What is fun about this book is a continuation of what happens in Alex’s life; where he is 3-4 years after the appearance in Tempted. The character Alex is a confident, sexy, stylish, millionaire that has a way with people. Though his affections can go either way, he is drawn to a beautiful woman (Olivia) that has been hurt by this very thing.

Once engaged to a man (Patrick), that preferred men, she had been hurt deeply. It was her love that allowed her to remain friends after the big breakup, and...more

I was somewhat disappointed in this book. I read Tempted and Everything Changes and loved them both. I thought Naked was going to be from Alex's point of view. I didn't know Olivia before this book and had a bit of a hard time getting into the book. I wanted to read about Alex falling in love from his mind. I wanted to read what he was thinking as he was falling in love with Olivia as we did when he fell in love with Anne. Does he still love Anne? Did he regret leaving Anne to Jamie when he was...more

*******SPOILER ALERT*********** I will not reveal any huge plot twists but I will talk about the characters and some events that swayed my opinion of this book.

This Erotic romance was one of the first that I read in this genre. Personally I wasn’t that impressed. I think there was too much photography of a pornographic nature. There was also too much fighting between the characters.

Those were the things I didn’t like, now on to the things I did like about “Naked”. Olivia was a very interesting c...more

The thing I like about Megan Hart's writing (and by that I mean the characters and the overall story) is that it's real and complicated and messy. In other words, it's a lot like real life.

That being said, that's sometimes the thing I don't like about Megan Hart's books. :) None of her stories seem to have the tried-and-true HEA. I'm okay with that because, well, see above.

Anyway, Naked was a very solid book, and I'm glad I finally read it. (I'd been putting it off a while because I had mixed...more

I read this after a conversation with a friend. I declared: "Erotic novels are boring. Gratuitous sex and no character development." I wasn't a fan of the Fifty Shade's novels; Anastasia really got on my nerves.

My friend said that Megan Hart wrote more interesting novels in this genre, and said I should give it a try. I used to beta read for other writers who wrote erotic tales, so I went in knowing I wouldn't be shocked by anything-but, it could some readers. Some of the language is crude, but...more

I’ve been meaning to try out one of Megan’s books for a while now. I think I decided to try one when Collide came out. I just loved the cover. Then, I read some reviews of her books over at Under the Covers. They sounded delightful. Though I usually like historical romance, I do enjoy some contemporary romance every now and then. I also don’t usually read erotic romance, but I’ve found that I can enjoy those just as much when they’re well written. It’s just funny to think about the fact that a y...more

The premise of the books was what pushed me to read it. Girl is still in love with ex-boyfriend who is now gay, and new guy of questionable gender starts pursuing her and she's working out her issues about it. So, going into this story, I was already sympathetic to Olivia and her situation. I liked her development as a character. The transformation was subtle but very solid. Working out her relationship with her parents and her ex was very interesting to read. I even shed a tear or two. That was...more

Ok first off I read Tempted so long ago that I totally didn't make the connection.

But to the main part. Although I liked the book and the characters, i found the whole thing just way too convoluted for my liking. I mean we have a half black, half white, half Jewish, half Catholic main character who is adopted, was engaged to a guy who turnerd out to be gay, had a baby with a random stranger and gave the baby to a male gay couple and then ends up marrying a formerly kinda gay guy who is kinda in...more

Dang-it! It's been a while since I read it. I just know that what started out as an intriguing premise become less surefooted once Alex declared his love. The ending was, i guess, supposed to be reality-based, open-ended, but it just lacked EMOTIONAL authenticity for me. But then, most of Megan Hart's do by the last page. A situation which is really maddening if you read a lot of her stuff.

I really wanted to like this book. I still think Megan Hart is one of the best romance / erotica writers out there (although I admit I'm not well read in the genre), but this one was disappointing. For those that have read Tempted, the other novel where Alex Kennedy plays a role, you may find yourself salivating at the chance to delve a little deeper into his character...well, that doesn't really happen. The viewpoint character is Olivia - biracial, raised by Catholic & Jewish parents and le...more

I still remember when I read the summary for this book. "... Alex Kennedy.. Hm... why does that name sound familiar? ... Wait, not THE Alex Kennedy from Tempted right? OMG, it is!" (Side note: The book summary does not relect what actually happens in the story. >_>)

I read Tempted several years back and there have always been several moments that stand out from the book, especially its moments featuring Alex Kennedy. (Books with threesomes have never been the same for me anymore!) It never...more

No Strings.
No Regrets.
And No Going Back.

I didn’t think he wanted me. And I wasn’t about to get involved with him, not after what I’d heard. Alex Kennedy was tall, dark and unbearably hot, but I’ve been burned before. Maybe it was stupid of me to offer but he needed a place to crash and I needed to pay the rent, but now he’s my tenant…with benefits. And now that we’ve crossed that line, I can’t seem to find my way back. But I can’t give my hea...more

I loved this book. Alex and Olivia were fun and sexy. There were two things that I hated about it, though. First, the big misunderstanding. It wasn't long & drawn out like in most books, but it made this book into a train wreck waiting to happen. Given Olivia's history (with Patrick) and who Alex was, you just KNEW something was going to rear its ugly head and ruin things for them... so you just had to sit & wait patiently page by page until somebody screwed up. I'm glad that it ended up...more

***SPOILER ALERT*** I won't give specific details in the story but will discuss overall character behavior and development which may spoil the story for some.

What a let down this book was!!! After reading Tempted I was really looking forward to this book so that I could finally get insight into Alex and what goes on in his head and how he felt during his time with James and Ann. I thought I would be reading Alex's story - I was wrong. Naked is basically Olivia's story with Alex as her love inter...more

I have to decide if I want to try more Megan Hart. In Naked, the female main character, Olivia, was half-black, adopted into a half-Jewish, half-Catholic white home. At the age of 5, her parents split and both turned back to their faiths, which left her feeling guilty for attempting to embrace either one. In college, she met her best friend/soul mate... she thought. Turns out he was in-the-closet gay, and told her two weeks before the wedding and STILL wanted to marry her. When she refused, they...more

Megan Hart tackles real-world issues of race, sexuality, adoption, and religion in an open and honest manner that is quite refreshing. The single POV style means we don't get other characters' motivations, but it does mean we get to see more of the main character's personality. I would have liked Olivia to have been a touch more aware of herself as a sometimes unreliable witness, since she claims to value Alex's honesty (to the point of being perturbed when he is less than forthcoming) and yet s...more

I didn't know what to expect when I started reading Naked, but I had no idea that I would become so engrossed in the novel that I wouldn't put it down. Olivia and Alex...both multifaceted and realistic...are so good together. Ms. Hart tells the story in addicting glimpses that keep you flipping the pages for more. I found myself trying to place myself in Olivia's shoes...What would I do? How would I feel? I was so caught up in their story that it was almost like watching a Lifetime movie! Alex k...more

Megan Hart has written in almost every genre of romantic fiction, including historical, contemporary, romantic suspense, romantic comedy, futuristic, fantasy and perhaps most notably, erotic. She also writes non-erotic fantasy and science fiction, as well as continuing to occasionally dabble in horror.
