From the "Wild & Hexy" imagination of a "New York Times" bestselling author
Sexy witch Anica Revere has one rule: never under any circumstances get involved with a man before telling him she's a witch. Still, what's one silly rule? Especially when the guy in question is as cute as Jasper Danes. But when Anica and Jasper have a spat, she breaks an ever bigger rule of w

This book is brilliant! I had a very hard time putting it down when I had things in the real world to do. This book is loaded with humor that kept me laughing thoughtout the book.

Few *spoilers* below

Ancia puts a spell on Jasper and turns him in to a cat, they both have an adventure together trying to change him back into a man. In the mean time he changes back in forth between man to cat, he has to learn how to cope with life as a cat this is where the fun part comes in. Imagine if you were a

Blonde with a Wand has helped me rediscover my love of light and funny paranormal romance. It’s what first pulled me to the genre. It is reminiscent of Playing with Fire by Gena Showalter. That is a very good comparison considering Playing with Fire is my fav para romance one of them at least.

Blonde with a Wand was very easy to read and pulls you in rather quickly. Once you start reading it’s not even an option to NOT read it. The Characters are likeable. Jasper and Anica seem like a perfect fit

Nothing like having a guy make you so mad that you invoke an ancient curse to turn him into a cat and on top of that, it makes you lose your magical abilities. Anica is a witch and Jasper is the cat...ummm man that she has been dating. They were really good together and it was interesting to see them and their relationship evolve.

There are a few other interesting characters in the story but I really enjoyed the relationship that Anica has with her sister, Lily. It was great to see t

After reading Mary Janice Davidson's "Undead & Unwed," I thought Vicki's witch collection would be an exciting change of pace from my frequent vampire obsessions. I want to start off by thanking Vicki for "Blonde With A Wand" book 1, "Chick With A Charm" book 2, and an autographed postcard featuring the cover art for both novels.

Typically if I am reading a book I am so set in my ways that if after the first chapter doesn't hold my attention I discard the novel and don't look back. It took m
Fun and breezy! That's what I would call Blonde With A Wand. Plenty of hilarious slapstick moments to make you chuckle out loud. Jasper the cat searching for answers in an entirely human way was one of those hilarious moments. Let's just say I'm glad my cats have never done that. As far as I know!

That one illegal spell and its consequences teach both Jasper and Anica an important lesson and makes them better people. This is especially true for Jasper who is incredibly insensitive, especially in

This book was insanely funny!

In the heat of the argument Anica accidentally invokes an anicent curse, turning him into a black cat. As a result, Anica has lost her magic powers until the curse is undone. Now the 2 of them m
Review from Backchatting Books

Anica Revere's date Jasper Danes turns out to be fairly obnoxious and she accidentally turns him into a cat. The ancient curse just tripped off her lips and unfortunately isn't easy to reverse. The two learn some difficult life lessons while they attempt to turn him back into a human.

Anica's blunder is fairly humiliating as her magic is suspended and she is forced to beg her irresponsible sister for assistance. She has to learn to live like the rest of us mortals b

Here you are on a date with a gorgeous guy, you both expect it to end in bed for the first time. While in the bathroom for one last appearance check you run into his ex, where you learn all sorts of things that ring true about him. On the walk back to your place you ask him about these things, he tries to dance around the lies he as told you. So what is a girl to do, well if you are Anica you turn him into a cat because you are a witch and he just isn't taking your shouts of "Get lost" seriously ...more

While it's formulaic in the manner of most romances (where the outcome is, predictably, a romance), it delved into the growth of the characters far more than most. It wasn't about the setting or the actions as much as it was about the people involved. Both of the main characters saw significant personal growth and stretching of their limitations and prejudices throughout the story.

The sole flat note for me was in the epilogue which was trite, rather predictable, and involved two supporting chara

A Chick-Lit story with plenty of humor and lovin'. The first 6 chapters was laugh out loud funny. The story then toned down with Anica, Jasper, and Lily trying to get poor Jasper back to a man.

The moral of this story..... Sacrifice for the sake of the one you love.

Best line in the book..... “Dollars to doughnuts that cat you found is not fixed." "Uh, no, I’m sure he’s not.” “I hope you’re planning to take care of that immediately. I can’t abide a male cat that’s not fixed.” Jasper suddenly wen
Hot, sexy, funny, entertainingly wicked, super cute read. Filled with a few little life lessons, hot steamy sex, and a whole lot of magic. Anica is not known to lose her temper, but Jasper Danes has just pushed her to the limit. With one spell she has changed both their lives forever. Wanting nothing more than to be rid of him, Anica has now made them attached more than ever. Gone with Jaspers human body, is Anica's magic. With the help of her sister Anica tries to reverse the spell and get her ...more

This was such a fun read! I was laughing throughout the book. It was fun to imagine witches fitting into real life with us like Annika is in Chicago. I loved that she "accidentally" placed a terrible spell on Jasper and being a cat lover, I liked that it turned him into a cat. It was also fun to see him start to change throughout the book and that they were able to eventually break the spell with the help of Lily and some of her friends. Hoping the second book about Lily is just as fun!

Funny, a little sexy and complex brain using story. Loved the extra characters - the crazy lady out to fix all cats and the couple Anica talks to about repairing the spell she used from a very, very old book - with no counter spell to reverse the problem.

Waiting for Lily's story to arrive in the post.

This was a cute book! I have loved Vicki Lewis Thompson ever since her Nerd series came out and I was not disappointed. "Blonde With a Wand" is a great start to her new series. It was light and cute, with the right amount of fluff. I loved reading Jasper's point of view as a cat. Can't wait to read Lily's book next!

Loved this book. The man-as-a-cat theme was original and funny. As a cat lover, I was amused to see a human live life as a cat. I enjoyed the witch aspect of the book. VLT has a way with humor, and this book was a great showcase of that.

A nice light, fun read. I really enjoyed this one and it had some laugh out loud moments. Jasper started out really arrogant, but he definitely changed for the better.
Dorcas and Ambrose are in this one too, but the focus is on Anica, a witch who accidentally teaches Jasper a lesson and learns one herself. Nice twist on the love story.

I absolutely loved this novel! I adored the characters and I am eager to read more novels in this series!
Ok, so I really liked a slightly cheesy supernatural romance book. It was a lot of fun - AND I'll admit to reserving the second one from home.

I give this book an extra star for getting me out of my reading slump. The reality is that this is a typical romance, with enough of everything: goofiness, intelligence and sex.

I would recommend to any fan of Thompson-she's one of my favorite contemporary/fantasy romance writers. I would also recommend to any looking for a fun contemporary/fantasy romance.

interesting story idea

liked the magic wish we saw more of that world!

i understand because of the nature of the story why it was set in one space but it felt claustrophobic - this is saying something considering i spend life rarely leaving the house ... i just wished she could have taken him out in cat form not always but once they built some trust they could've at least flew on her sisters broom or went to the woods for some midnight magic picnic or anything out of the apartment where they weren

This is a solid Three Stars. And I'm going to break it down by what I didn't like, and what I did like. Overall all, though, would I buy it again? Yes. Will I buy the sequel? Yes.

The story begins on a date between Anica and Jasper where Anica finds out that Jasper lied to her in order to begin dating her; he comes after her and in haste she curses him. Unfortunately as a witch the spell cannot harm another and as a result she loses her powers. Jasper must find a way to counter the spell while r

My review cross-posted from Joyfully Reviewed:

Some women think men are dogs. To Anica Revere, Jasper Danes is more of a tomcat. At least he is after she turns him into one. Anica just happens to be a witch, and though she generally tells the men she’s dating her magical heritage before they get too deeply involved, she makes an exception with Jasper. But in the midst of a bad fight, by-the-book Anica makes a very big mistake and uses an an

“Too bad you don't have cable. We could test him by putting him in front of ESPN with a bowl of beer and a package of Cheez-Its."
Jasper hissed his disapproval.
Anica laughed softly. "I don't think he appreciates your stereotyping him like that."
"Oh, bite me Jasper."
It was a tempting thought.
Lily stood. "Enough of this. Let's raid your closet and find us some hot dancing duds." She continued down the hall.
Jasper glared after her. Lily was so wrong about him. He didn't like Cheez-Its. Onion rings went way better with beer.”
