Recommends it for: my worst enemy
Recommended to PlatKat by: April, who isn't allowed to recommend any more books for awhile
Awhile back, I was up at night wondering, What is the worst book ever written? Then one day, as if recognizing my query, April lent me this one. I'm already not a fan of relationship books, but this went above and beyond any horrible writing I ever thought to have existed. I'll just briefly mention that the schlocko editing job didn't help matters either. Noun-pronoun agreement, people!

Anyway, I read this book on the bus a few days ago and made it to page 50, only because my commute is about 40...more

It says it all in the title. Working at a bookstore, I came across books that I wouldn't usually purchase and read for pleasure... but I did read a handful of books from the section where I most often worked and this was one of them. It was oddly realistic coming from the view of a man who used to be a rapper. It's funny to hear what men truly think of women and how backwards they really are... they want one thing in a girlfriend and something entirely different in a woman they would take home t...more

I recommended that book for comic value ONLY!!! It's been sitting on the top of my magazine rack as a fantastic conversation starter for months. Just look at the title! And the author! CLASSIC!!!

My magazine rack now has the flashy new Bust Magazine with EVE on the cover sitting right on top. Having recently lent this book to PlatKat, I asked the rack when it wanted this book back and it said, "Eh, whenevah..."

To let a man get to know your personality, instead of your body.

I am GRACIOUSLY giving this book 2 stars, and they are (mostly) for the title (which, frankly, I think is HILARIOUS). I didn't like the way it was written. This isn't something that I'd have bought if I'd been able to pick up in the store and read a sample of the way it was written is all I'm gonna say... There were PAGES on how to deal with men who have baby-mama-drama and PAGES on how sex is like a drug, and don't be a crack whore. (Okay, that last bit wasn't word for word, but... it was close...more

Old News For Old Playas

"A Guide to Understanding Men" taught me absolutely nothing. I am very disappointed in author Big Boom for giving this old and known advice. This is the millennium and most of the issues have occurred and are already known - or should be known. I expected this book to teach me some new techniques about men. Offer some new insight. However, it did not, and as a result, it was not good. It refreshed my memory of the past relationships I encountered in my life. I felt like th...more

I expected more out of this book because the title sounded so great. Whereas the former pimp/lady-hater author gives some good advice on women needing to love one's self first, he also blames alot of issues on women. I appreciate that the author changed his life around by coming to God and beginning a one-woman loving relationship, but seriously, this book should never have been published. The grammar is horrible, he rambles from one topic to the next, he starts giving good advice and then cuts...more

Very interesting, makes you think about things you wouldn't have depending on ones relationship status. Not done with it seeing as I'm such a busy wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend but it seems to be very hard to put down, when I am able to read it.

The title was blunt and the content didn't surprise me with that in mind. The book was a reality check on how to stop going back to dead-end relationships. It had a modernized version of a health relationship could be for someone who is looking for a change.

This is a horribly written book that you should not take seriously. With that in mind, I think you will have yourself a nice and hearty laugh.

Another great book. Good insight to the male species.
