The Flow of Life

Very married, LaDamien Bryson gallops around town with different women without any regard to word getting back to Kim, his wife. Unhappy, miserable and stuck in a loveless marriage, LaDamien resents Kim for staying and wishes she would finally get enough gumption to put them both out of their misery.

While Kim is far from happy, LaDamien is the love of her life. Sure she knows about the countless other women, but once the novelty wears off, he’s back home being the loving husban...more

This book was really hard for me to read. Not because it isn't a good book, it is, but because as a victim of infidelity that led to divorce, I found this authors writing too in your face. The book is written in first person from the point of view of the wife, husband, and mistress. She places you not only in the scene but in the characters head.

Married women who have dealt with a cheating husband may not care for this book. Women who read books about affairs want the wife to prevail, the mistr...more

Love...Like Snow In Florida is the story of a LaDamien, a world-class loser who attracts women like bees to honey. He is married to Kim who he obviously doesn't love or respect. Although he has other women waiting in line to get with him he takes up with Mya and is hell bent on destroying her life. This book had more drama, twists and turns, than any book I have read lately. I love how the author gives everyones perspective and shows how when in love we do and allow things to happen to us that w...more

When LaDamien Bryson takes stock of his life he realizes he needs someone to share it with. In his late thirties, he is unmarried and childless. He decides it is time to take a wife. In Kim Friar he finds a smart, devoted, and nurturing woman whom he feels is just as good of a candidate as anyone else. The two quickly wed, and a year later their daughter Ariel is born. Fast forward and in walks Mya Blake, a woman LaDamien once desired years earlier. Faced with honoring his commitment to Kim, or...more

I couldn't really sympathize with any of the characters in this book and I felt that the author really didn't want me to. There is a reference in the beginning of the book regarding the different way that white women and black women think. And then throughout the book the words "White" and "Black", in reference to people, are capitalized.

The story involves LaDamien, a weak-willed, cheating SOB, Kim, the wife who looks the other way, and Mya, the woman who uses love as an excuse to be the other...more

I wanted to like the book, I really did. I tried relating to the characters but I had troubles. I don't know if it is because I was out of my comfort zone on this one or it just wasn't my type of writing. I think the main thing was the writing style. Or maybe it was the characters. I can't place my finger on it. I really did wanted to enjoy this book, but just had troubles and pushed my self to read it.

As seen on my link text

I found this book to be not really what I would normally read, but I can see another audience enjoying it a lot.

I struggled with this book. I had no sympathy for the characters, and I think that since I didn't care what happened to them, I wasn't invested in the book. I do not have personal experience with infidelity, and I have trouble seeing how people would get themselves into and stay in these situations. Sex scenes were good, was not expecting the ending.

I tried really hard to read this book and just couldn't finish it. After 3 weeks of trying, I got only half way through. I found the female characters lame and unbelievable. The male lead was a pig who used women for sex and expected them all to remain loyal. It was just not my style.
