A damn strange little book from my childhood. Tenderly told, my ass. That dog could be a character in a Joe Abercrombie book.

Revised to four stars, though, because really, it's not every children's book with a magic conch shell and heiaus in it.

In the 4th grade my family went to Hawaii and I got this book. I loved it! I even used it for a book report and made a paper mâché dog and conch shell.

Got this from my grandparents, who lived in Hawaii, when I was a kid. Loved all the books I got from this imprint. Kama Pua'a and Momotaro Peach Boy were the other two I had.
