I got bored with this one - I really felt like the scene was set back in the 50's/60's. The only thing that really told me it was an up to date romance was the use of cell phones and fax machines otherwise I really wouldn't have known.
I usually find Ms Sullivan a bit tame and the love/sex scenes a bit fluffy but she does usually write a good story but this one was slow and in my opionion really shouldn't have been in the Desire collection.

Vanessa has already lost her husband, and her in-laws are threatening to take away her son. Trying to put some distance between them, she starts to work for Kirk. Sparks fly form the beginning between them. Kirk has been used by women before, and he believes Vanessa is trying to use him too.
