Sam Keller knows he'll never find the excitement he craves in Middleton, Iowa--not while hes busting his ass in nursing school and paying rent by slaving away in a pharmacy stockroom. But before his mother died, he promised her he'd grow up to be a good man, so he needs a stable career and a good husband, not a dead-end job and empty sex.

Then Sam meets Mitch Tedsoe, an in...more

More of my reviews and thoughts on my blog PANTS OFF REVIEWS

This one was an emotional rollercoaster for me, in the beginning I didn’t like it much but by the end I was cheering, crying and laughing. I had my hang ups that this was going to be a road trip about kinky sex, it became so much more than that. A deeply rooted love story as tall and strong as any tree seen on this journey through the winding roads of the USA. I was in a perpetual state of reading once I got into it, and I...more

I Have to give Heidi Cullinan a personal applause because when I started this book I though that there was no way in HELL is she was going to make this a 5 star book~I thought 1-2 and/or 3 at the most....I could not figure how and why people were rating this so high....Well.....MY BAD!!!!! Damn Good AWESOME 5 STAR Book...

Jeez, this book was like taking a ride, it started off slow and then BAM! Shit and WTF just happen....Cuz we have arrive our destination and the view is oh so sweeeet! OMG...I w...more

It was a pretty good book, which from me is saying a lot since i am not a fan of three-ways and i hate reading about open relationships, so for me to enjoy it enough to give it 4 stars, it says something. The writing is really good and I loved Sam and thought Mitch was ok.

The book was also like 20 times kinkier than my usual read and I'd like to be able to say I skipped the kinky sex scenes (which there were more then plenty of) but for some reason i couldn't help myself and read them all. I go...more

Wow, ok, so... hmm, I sort of lack words. I made the mistake of thinking I could casually pick this book 20 pages before the end while I was on my lunch break... that ended badly with me crying and a chapter to go by the time it was time to return to work.... So like any other book crazy person, since my eyes and nose were red from crying, I went with it and claimed I wasn't feeling well, grabbed my purse and went to the bathroom and finished... Now I'm writing this review while pretending to do...more

This is one of those books that make impossible for me to let the characters go. I can't really write a review, because I would end up writing more about my feelings than about the book itself. And this is pretty useless as a review, so why am I writing this?

I love books about road trips that are also a journey to self discovery. Sometimes it seems only when you are far from home, disconnected from the people you know - and especially those who know you - you can really be yourself, as if the ma...more

Sam is a 21 year old college student who lost his mother three or four years prior. He has been forced to live with his horrid aunt and his oblivious uncle since her passing. He works part time at his aunt and uncle's pharmacy and is barely scraping by in nursing school. His sex life consists of occasional, not-so-satisfying encounters with one guy that he doesn't like so much and giving blow jobs in the school bathroom to a straight guy he can't stand. Then he meets Mitch. Mitch is an independe...more

i loved every minute of this one, what a little hidden gem. you have to open your mind to their twisted perverted way of thinking, but if you are forgiving, then its a great sexy kinky lovely read. its a unique and spicy coming of age tale that is so naughty and fun.

i had no idea about the iowa marriage thing, awesome.

off to read double blind, i was so surprised and impressed with heidii cullinan in special delivery.

only thing i would have changed is adding a sex scene in an epilogue and more bo...more

Now I understand why everyone was talking about this book. AMAZING! If you have this on your TBR list push it up to the very top, you won't regret it, but will thoroughly enjoy the read.

There are so many things that I liked about this book, but one HUGE one, is how well written it was. From the telling of the story to the development of the characters, to the romances, the scenes, everything. There were moments where I laughed out loud, instances where I honestly wanted smack...more

Read this hot little number in one sitting. 21 year old Ben takes off with truck driver Mitch on a trip out west where he realises all his darkest fantasies...phew!

"Sunshine he whispered, "you have to tell me what you want."
To stay with you. To never go home. To never finish school, to never look back, to have this moment go on forever and never end.

2.0 Stars.

I really wanted to like this book. I really tried to like this book. But in the end ... I just didn't really like this book. :( It's not a bad book! I can totally appreciate that many readers liked it and that's great. But, personally, this one just didn't appeal to me.

What I liked:
-Sam and Mitch's May/December romance
-the road trip and traveling the countryside
-Sam's loving memories of his mom
-Sam's innocence
-Mitch's tenderness (at times)

What I didn't like:
-Sam was too wimpy and whin...more

Oh Sam, I loved him. There's a sweet innocence about him that's cutely endearing but oh boy what a contradiction, he's flirty, slutty, shy, and mischievous. The road trip he embarks on with Mitch is a revelation, every fantasy and erotic dream imaginable is intensified to the max, the eroticism is breathtaking. A kinky sexy feast which both men devour every chance they get. One sticking point, ugh I disliked Randy, Mitch's ex, who was a creepy sleaze, I couldn't stand him. The only pos...more

I really enjoyed this story. What I loved most was following Sam on his journey from one of self-doubt and shame to one of acceptance and love. With some help from Mitch, Sam was finally able to embrace his sexual desires and stand up for what he wants.

However, there were a few things that bugged me. At times, Sam tended to whine a bit much for my liking but it didn't take away from the story. For the most part I loved his character. Then there was the lack of closeness between Mitch and Sam du...more

OMG!!!! Just finish it and I'm crying!

Yes there is a menage aspect (Randy the third man) but this story is all about the heartbreaking love between Sam and Mitch .

Sam is a 21 years old student trying to finish nurse school. But he's messed up... frustrated but the lack of "decent" gay men he just do with anyone who want his body. He just don't care... and that's very sad.
Mitch is a 33 years old delivery man. His truck (the Old Blue) is his house and his life.

Both will meet in the worst moment p...more

I came to this from A Private Gentleman thinking that someone who managed a retelling of The King's Speech as an m/m, including child abuse, might manage writing a functional BDSM story without putting the feet squarely into cliches. I was not so lucky: readable, but very so-so.

I was wondering if I should read it for quite a long time since I'm not a big fan of threesomes but I'm so glad I've tried it in the end. I'd never believe I'll love it as much as I did but it was one of the hottest things I've ever read.

A great adventure that Sam took the risk to go on with Mitch. Quite amusing and interesting to say the least even with Sam's insecurities which he got in check somewhat, but for him it was one hellova ride. The story overall is spectacular. I couldn't put it down; I didn't want to. For some the ménage might not be appealing, but it was worth it to me because the characters were savory and tasteful... fictionwise. LOL

But I have to say for me the best in the book is when Randy makes his appearance...more

I just finished this book and have a big ole gin on my face. I flat out loved loved loved loved this book!! Great story, hot sex, relatable and endearing characters and a realistic story line. I wish I could meet a Mitch myself. So far 2 for 2 with Heidi's books. She is definitely my new favorite author!

I avoided this book for months -- and months -- because I didn't much like the D/s aspects of the menage sequences in the sequel, Double Blind (which I had already read), and I thought this book would just be more of the same. Thankfully, I had a much better appreciation for the kink here. I don't know whether it is actually treated differently in this book, or whether my perspective has simply changed over time.

In any case, this was a pretty sweet book over all. I liked the way that Mitch (truc...more

Good characterization and a convincing romantic attachment

Warning: This review might contain what some people consider SPOILERS.

Rating: 8/10

PROS:
- Convincing whirlwind romance. There’s good chemistry between the leads, and the author provides a detailed look at Sam’s thoughts and does a good job of describing Mitch in such a way that it seems as though we’re privy to his thoughts, as well. I especially like how protective Mitch is of Sam: they’re both into sharing, but as soon as Sam gets unco...more

There's something so raw and wonderful about this book that I couldn't put it down. I've been on a BDSM kick the past week or so and this book definitely wasn't traditional D/s but it did dabble in the B&D part while straying from the S&M aspect. There was a lot of kinky sex and a lot of emotions running through this book that it was nearly perfect for me.

Sam Keller met Mitch Tedsoe in the alley of his aunt and uncle's pharmacy while taking boxes to the dumpster and was immediately so at...more

I wished I could have liked this book more. I really wish I could. There are elements in it that I adore and enjoyed reading. I love the May/December romance aspect, I love that 'slutty" isn't an insult, I love the sort of BDSM that doesn't involve all the whips and chains and "yes Master" and protocol and so on, I LOVE a good sexy road trip story with loads of descriptions about the world traveling by. All of these aspects are great in this novel. Hell, it even got me looking into more of Kylie...more

This is the story of Sam, a young man who has found that he likes kink and mild BDSM in his sex life, and has a hard time reconciling what he wants with how he thinks a good person should behave. He meets Mitch, a truck driver with a lot more experience and enough of a caring nature to help Sam explore his boundaries while encouraging him to feel good about himself and his needs. In many ways I loved this book, loved the two characters, and appreciated the added complexity of a MC who wants kink...more

This story is well-written with great character development. You feel what Sam and Mitch feel, which is great, as the story is told from both points of view. You get inside their heads and want to yell at them when they make wrong choices, laugh with them at an inside joke, but most of all, you feel involved with their relationship.

There is SEX in this book… lots of it. Lots of detailed M/M sex, experimentation, Dominance/submission, and more. At some points, the sex dominants (no pun intended!)...more

This book was way better than I was expecting. The charater development in this book is phenomenal, and a rarity in erotic romance. The story is written entirely from the perspective of Sam, a young gay man struggling with his sexuality, not the fact that he is gay but the fact that he enjoys some kinky stuff in the bedroom (and, well, out) and feels kind of ashamed of his desires. He meets Mitch, a trucker, while Mitch is delivering stock to a business near the pharmacy where Sam works. It's lu...more

Heidi Cullinan has always loved a good love story, provided it has a happy ending. She enjoys writing across many genres but loves above all to write happy, romantic endings for LGBT characters because there just aren't enough of those stories out there. When Heidi isn't writing, she enjoys cooking, reading, knitting, listening to music, and watching television with her family. Heidi also voluntee...more
