A sequel to Kiss Me If you Can - also reviewed by us - Carly Phillips gives us the fresh love story with a mysterious plot. This book was fun, sexy, steamy, and interesting. While it's out of my normal fave genre, I like to bring in some new blood once and awhile :).

We met Sara in the first book, she's a strong female cop, from a family of cops. Her character had great development in Kiss Me if You Can, so I rolled into this one and learned how gorgeous she could be. Rafe is her More...

This was the second book in her two-parter that started with Kiss Me If You Can. In true Phillips’ style, this book was action-packed, had some drama, then gave you some steam to keep you interested. Well-written and fun to read, this book would be a great beach read or a book when you need to have a brain veg-a-thon.

Sara Rios and Rafe Mancuso have been partners for a long time. Long enough to start to have some feelings for each other, and long enough for Rafe to split up from his More...

Picking up right where the previous book left off is the second installment of The Bachelor Blogs series where former partners in the NYPD Rafe Mancuso and Sara Rios are thrown together again after a hostage situation's aftereffects put both of them in danger. The last time these two saw each other, Rafe had asked for a transfer because of his intense feelings for Sara while being engaged to another and Sara was struggling with feelings of loss his transfer caused. Rafe is now a hero after bei More...

I was hoping that I'd like this book more than I did the first one...and for a while in the beginning I thought I was going to enjoy, but then it slipped down to just average. It just didn't hit the right spots for me.

Series Note:
Second book in Phillips' "Bachelor Blogs" series. Possibly a standalone, but the setup is introduced in book 1.

Summary:
Sara Rios and Rafe Mancuso were once partners on the police force who had a More...

More...

Have you ever had a brain fart where your brain just refused to see what was directly in front of you? Yeah, that's what I had while I was nearing the end of my reading adventure with this book. I kept putting up dumb questions when the answer was staring me directly in the face (even after I was finished with the book). I blamed my lack of sleep when I was reading this book. LOL.

Anyway, this is the second book in the Bachelor Blog Series and it's Cooper from Kiss Me if You Can's best More...

My 2 Beans?
As you can see this one only received 2 cups, meaning it was okay. Why? Well, it was disappointing that Ms. Philips usual wit and charm was mostly missing in this story. Philips has become synonymous with romantic comedy to many readers, and when that attribute is missing it leaves the reader wanting.

There is a good amount of suspense, some action, and a touch of romance (it is Harlequin). Yet at the end it didn't match up to the original Bachelor's Blog boo More...

The second book in the Most Eligible Bachelor series is just as entertaining and full of great characters as the first one.

Police officers Rafe Mancuso and Sara Rios have fought against their chemistry for some time, but when Rafe is seriously hurt while trying to rescue Sara things begin to change. A few days later Sara needs a place to hide and staying in Rafe's cabin where he is getting back on his feet is the perfect solution. While living together in the small cabin More...

I used to read a lot of Carly Phillips books and I'm not sure if my tastes have just evolved because I did not enjoy her writing with this novel (or the other one in this series). Very cheesy, awkward dialogue, and not the most exciting plot.

Also, I found the male characters in both the books in this series kind of BLAH. She kept talking about how "sexy" they were but I just didn't FEEL it. The female characters were much more well-rounded and the males made me wanting more

I liked this one better than the first in the series (Love Me if You Dare). This one was pretty good...the only criticism I have is of the writing. I realize it's a romance novel and I shouldn't expect too much, but just because you're writing romance doesn't give you an excuse for not writing well (I mean, look at Nora Roberts--I think she's one of the best writers in the world and she started with romance). Overall, I would recommend this one over the series' first.

Hostage negotiator Rafe Mancuso saves Sara Rio's (his former police officer partner) life only to end up alive but written up in the Bachelor Blogs as New York City's most eligible bachelor. He flees to his small hometown to recover. Sara also ends up in the same small town hiding out before testifying in a mob trial. Mob scares, drug deals, big family drama is all intertwined in Rafe and Sara's story. A quick, easy and fun read.

I could never really get into this book, but didn't actually know why...I liked Rafe and Sara had some redeeming qualities, but I just never fell in love with the story. I finally decided that all the drama and angst was just TOO over the top!!! Rafe and Saras' hang-ups were always at the one end of the spectrum or the other with never any middle ground. Real life is generally a lot more middle than extremes.

Not nearly as good as its predecessor in the series, Kiss Me If You Can, this book is still better than a lot of other contemporary fiction out there. The characters are likable, as they are in most of Ms. Phillips' books. I even enjoyed the secondary love story, which I often skim over in other books. Just the right touch of suspense intermingled with the love story.

Got this book in the mail today. Going to read it first and then go and read the 1st one of the series.

Loved Sara and Rafe's story. It was an action packed adventure. Two cops - both out on leave for injuries. We get the she loves him but can't trust love and he wants it all. Liked the side story of the brother and sister in law who are trying to get back to each other. All in all - it was a good book. Of course - I love any of Carly Phillips books.

Overall, I enjoyed Love Me if You Dare. This romance is well developed and Phillips maintains the sexual tension between Rafe and Sara, even through the angsty parts, with the steam carried through to the end. The secondary characters in the story provide a light and fun atmosphere that made Love Me if You Dare a fast paced, enjoyable read.

Really enjoyed this one. I definitely knew the villain from the first time they appeared on the pages, but it didn't stop my enjoyent of the story. I do wish that the heroine owuld have let go of her issues a little earlier. I felt like she didn't quite deserve the perfection that was the hero.

Not as good as the first one. Maybe if the drug line or the threat line had been worked up more. But as it stood, it was too little or too much of both depending on how you look at it. Also, Sara was not the most likable heroine ever. I liked her so much more as a supporting character in the first book.

Picked up where Kiss ME If You Can left off. I liked the story enough, I didn't like when a characters name was mistakenly swapped out for anothers. This happened in book #1. The authors response was, 'whoops guess my CE didn't catch that.' Umm, that's sad.

Cute and fun. I love Carly's books. There is always a sweet romance with a bit of a suspense angle. But, always there are older people (Kind of like what you'd find in Grumpy old men), in her books that make the fun factor go through the roof.

Sweet romance with a mystery thrown in. I liked the hero's family interactions with our heroine. The couple are cops on leave in hero's childhood hometown. I laughed a lot.

3-1/2 stars. I'm sure I've said it before, but a classic Carly Phillips romance is so great. This one had a great, extremely fun side story with a fun-loving uncle. I enjoyed that the main female character, Sara, was a strong, confident, self-assured, take-no-crap, girl. She was open and honest about her feelings and her didn't play games or leave her partner guessing at what she wanted. Of course, she wasn't 100% sure what she wanted either, but she told everyone what she thought she wante More...
