They are called the Demons, one of the elusive Nightwalker races living in shadow and struggling for survival against their human enemies. Their proudest warrior is Elijah, a man who bends for nothing and no one...until one woman brings him to his knees...

This series has a really cool concept. I like the plots, the characters, even the bad guys are incredibly worthy opponents. Wow, the villain Ruth? She is one evil woman. I wish more villains were written like her.
What I don't like is that it is soo overly wordy. In the first few pages, our hero Elijah, the greatest warrior, the fiercest of the fierce, is dying a horrible awful death and he waxes philosophical. For like 9 pages. Really? It happens a lot in...more
Where Gideon was very romantic with long years of unknown yearning and deep seated emotion, Elijah is packed with raw passion and need. It really packs a punch.
I love how the Demons have become so clear in my mind and they are all so different from each other, with very defined character traits.
It has taken me a little while to get used to the writing in this series, but now I am totally with it. I a...more
A new era is upon them, changing the things that they have known for centuries, and unmasking an evil that could very well destroy them. This is the fate of the Nightwalkers the world of demons, lycanthropes, vampires and all things that are considered mystical and magical. Once a world filled with war, these species are about to get all close and personal with each other. Some laws are being broken but who cares when you are dealing with raw and wild love.

I enjoyed her first two books of the series tremendously. Elijah however, starts off very slowly. There's very little dialogue in the first couple chapters and if you haven't read the first two books I'm not sure you could understand it. You wouldn...more
He is known as the Warrior Captain - a master of every weapon, a fierce soldier sworn to protect his kind. Powerful, relentless, merciless, Elijah has always won every battle he's ever taken on - until now. Ambushed by necromancers, he is left for dead only to be discovered by the woman who could very well deliver the final blow...Siena, the Lycanthrope Queen. With three centuries of warring, little more than a decade of uneasy peace has existed between the Lycanthropes and Elijah's people. Now,...more
Elijah is the Warrior Captain of the Demons, and it is his job to ensure the safety of his race by taking on the threats. He is very strong willed, stubborn and fiercly loyal. These are the sides he shows to everyone....the ones who personally know him also know that he is kind and caring.

Of course, I have already write reviews about the first two book of the series and I’ve told that I really like the writing style of the author but I have to tell it again. Jacquelyn Frank rocks!!!
Elijah makes his appearance from the first book and from the first moment I knew that I’d love his story. He is a strong warrior with a great reputation and he’s a man...more

Elijah, the 3rd book in the series, focuses on Elijah, the Warrior Captain of Demonkind. He sounds completely freakin' hot, of course, and the author spends a great deal of time talking about his looks, his body, his hair, his eyes, his muscles, and on and on.
Here's how it starts out: We start off inside Elijah's head, in his thoughts. He has obviously been gravely wounded in some kind of battle. We ascertain that this was a surpris...more
To say this book held smashing action, love, and of course the raging war that is only getting more and more out of control would be huge understatement. It would take more time than I am willing to give considering the Super Bowl is on plus about 10 more years f...more

Jacquelyn Frank continues to weave her complex Nightwalker world in Elijah, bringing the Lycanthropes and their Queen, Siena into the erotic weft. We had some hints about the Elijah-Siena attraction in Gideon at the Battle of Beltane when several Nightwalker species came together against the threat of stinky necromancers, demented demons bent on revenge and human hunters and magic practitioners. We also gain another species, the Mistrals which roughly correspond to mythological Sirens. Their son...more
Book three in the Nightwalkers series is the story of Elijah, Demon Warrior Captain extraordinaire, and Siena, the Lycanthrope Queen. See all those capitals in that sentence? That is what Jacquelyn Frank’s writing is like for me: emphatic, a little bigger than life, sometimes a little too important sounding, but at the same time quite fun. This audiobook made for an excellent weekend listen while I got on with the mundane tasks of life.

Gideon is really growing on me, and I realized after I finished reading this book, how much more I liked the first two books. I love Elijah, I just wasn't a huge fan of Elijah and Siena. He cow-towed too early and too hard in my opinion. I would have liked...more
This part of the story to me is the best so far. The story is exciting, tense, full of verbal, physical and psychological battles.
The main female character, Sienna, is finally a real main character, a woman strong character, clear priorities, aware of herselves and heres capabilities, realistically accepts and...more
I have a love/hate relationship with the Nightwalker series. I love the storyline, the characters are great and I always come away with a sigh of enjoyment at the end of each book. But (there’s always a but), it does take a while for things to start moving and for plot lines to be revealed. It has been a trend for me in three books I’ve read into the series so far – but because of my perseverance I’ve found enjoyment in three books I may have put down had I not carried on.

3rd in the series, Elijah may actually be better than the first two (Jacob & Damien). The daemon warrior captain, Elijah, is mortally wounded and saved by the lycanthrope Queen, Siena. (view spoiler)[The first half of the book revolves around Siena's efforts to nurse Elijah back to health while trying to ignore the escalating romantic chemistry. Loved it, loved it! The rest of the book deals with how they wrestle with the inevitability of their imprinting... (like sou...more
This is the 3rd book in the series (following Jacob and Gideon) about Demons, Lycanthropes and Vampires. Elijah, Demon Warrior, finds himself on the brink of death but is saved by Siena, the Lycanthrope Queen. Of course the two realize they're destined to be together (it's a romance after all), but not without struggling with some issues. Throughout the book, they and their friends...more
