The third book in Jacquelyn Frank's Nightwalker series picks up shortly after Gideon (The Nightwalkers, Book 2), the second book in the series, ends. Jacob and Isabella's daughter has been born and Warrior Captain Elijah and empath Magdelegna have been names her Siddah (the demons who will foster her and help her hone her powers), though a naming ceremony hasn't yet taken place. Isabella is recovering from the vicious attack on her and her baby, led by former councilwoman turned traitor Ruth and...more

Now I call that a great story!
I love how the author writes her stories. Her characters are believable, with emotions that warm as well as cripple.
Elijah, a warrior through and through, relentless, merciless , a fierce and strong soldier both in mind and body, doesn't stop for anything. He doesn't like emotion, but can't help what he feels. Running into what seemed like a trap at the time was enough to bruise that enormous ego. But it was also what brought Siera to him.

Book 3 in Jacquelyn Frank’s compelling Nightwalker series, ‘Elijah’ is a shining star in romantic fiction with a story that leaps from the pages in mesmerizing detail and breathless passion. Elijah is the Captain of the Demon warriors and protector of the innocent and good in the human and the Nightwalker realms. When Elijah is attacked and near death he is rescued by Siena, Queen of the Lycanthrope, and the one woman who stirs a forbidden desire in him that shou...more

This is the 3rd installment of Frank's Nightwalker series. Again, another wonderful story fleshing out this lush world where creatures of the night rule and protect.
This story is the first to address 'interspecies' relationships that do not involve humans. Frank handled the situations delicately and perfectly making you, the reader, believe and feel for the characters and the turmoil they go through in coming to grips with everything around them.

I really wanted to give this book a 4 star rating. I enjoy the author and definitely enjoy the world she has created. I think it's different from other worlds about vampires and shapeshifters. However, I could only manage a 3 star rating for this one.
I enjoyed her first two books of the series tremendously. Elijah however, starts off very slowly. There's very little dialogue in the first couple chapters and if you haven't read the first two books I'm not sure you could understand it. You wo...more

Unlike the previous book, this one starts much more quickly and gets going faster. Elijah, the warrior Captain of the Demons, walks into a Necromancer trap and is nearly killed. Rescued by the Queen of the Lycanthropes, Siena, the two find an irristable attraction between them that they try to resist - they're of different race, species even, and Siena has vowed never to take a mate, having learnt a painful lesson from her war-mongering father. Whom Elijah killed. He's the Demon Butcher to her p...more

I REALLY like this paranormal romance series! (Nightwalkers, by Jacqueline Frank) Ms. Frank spends most of each book letting you get to know the characters and their relationships with one another. Not just the featured romantic couple, either - you get to see many different sides of all the main characters. The resulting universe she creates is full and rich with a lot of depth. I could see myself just as sucked into this world as I am with the Anita Blake or Immortals after Dark Series, at lea...more

This is an interesting premise, an interesting universe. The characters even have some nice points. But I am afraid I just do not like Jacquelyn Frank's voice. She uses lots and lots of big words. while I have nothing against big words per se, when they're all piled together in one huge heap of wordiness, my head tends to explode, my eyes start to cross (worse than usual) and I start skimming. In this story, Elijah is a big, bad demon warleader who gets ambushed by traitor demons and human necro...more

3rd book in Frank's Nightwalker series. This is the story of Elijah, the Demon Warrior Captain and Siena, the Lycanthrope Queen. It also continues the story of the ongoing war between the Necromancers and the Nightwalker's This one really tried my patience in reading. It took me until I got to the last half of the book to really get interested in the story. I guess that is why it has been laying around the house for almost 2 weeks. It furthers the conflict along greatly, which I enjoyed reading ...more

Elijah's book was so jammed packed with info (past) that it made the book hard to get into. The story starts out great but then it start back pedaling with the information from the past books. I actually liked the chemistry between these two characters Elijah the Warrior Captiain and The Lycanthrope Queen Siena. The battle that goes on between the Demon's enemies where everyone is together at the end was spectacular. It sets the scene for the next book I beleive. All in all the book was okay jus...more

I still love this series. I like how it's combining all the species of paranormal characters by interweaving their history, their lives, their futures together. I like that the story continues with each book by not only bringing a new character to the forefront but by also keeping up with the front burner characters of the previous books. It makes you care about the characters and seem them more three dimensional.

This one is about a Demon who mets and imprints (destiny mates) with a creature who is human and can turn into catlike animals. She is the queen of her people and is afraid that if she accepts the Demon her people will revolt. The book has a slow start but then picks up midway and gets more intense with the emotional scenes between the main characters as they work out how they can be together.

Admittedly this book does tend to get a little bit too wordy, but it is a very well written story. Again, the main and supporting characters are very likeable. I love the fact that Ms. Frank brings back characters from the previous books and makes them an important part of the story. The passion and love between Siena and Elijah is breathtaking. Can't wait to read Damien and Syreena's story.

Ok, this one was good, but it wasn't quite as good as "Gideon." There was so much drama with our main couple that all the necromancer business kind of felt like an afterthought. I almost wish that Elijah and Siena got another book because it feels like their story isn't over yet. Maybe they'll resurface in a following book...

Excellent romance & intrigue. Full of vamps, shapeshifters, good vs. evil, and sex. Fabulous read. Elijah and Siena play off of each other extremely well and off of the rest of the cast well too. Think I read Jacob, but now I'm gonna read rest of series very soon and wait anxiously for more.

Yummy. I adore books about Vampires and I adore books about Werewolves, so when these too meet, it's kismet.
Elijah is technically not a vampire, I know. He's a demon. But close enough.
This is my favorite out of the series so far. Can't wait for the next one.

Surprisingly enjoyable, but I'm a sucker for the wounded hero set-up. Want to know more about my opinion?
