Counties of South and West Yorkshire were among the first to witness the birth of the Railway Age. A book covering the growth and decline of the railway network of South and West Yorkshire (i.e. the former West Riding). Each chapter focuses on a different major company, including the Great Northern Railway and Great Central Railway, or several smaller ones. Each chapter comes complete with maps of the lines concerned.

All photographs are good quality with informative captions. An excellent addition to the "Lost Lines" series which at 11 for 160pages represents good value for money.
