College is a big adjustment--but not if you're Kenya Posey. Even at a southern school far from her Jersey turf, she's the one the girls envy and the boys want. Kenya's the star of a hot singing/dancing troupe, her high-school BFF Lark is on campus--could things get any better?
For Lark, the answer is yes. While she's flunking socially, life is one big episode of Everybody

The oddest thing about this book is that the blurb on the back that describes the plot is completely wrong. Apparently somebody wrote the description without actually reading the book. Best friends Lark and Kenya along with Kenya's little brother Eric and Eric's friend, a famous rapper named Fiasco, all spend the summer before Lark and Kenya leave for college learning more about the hidden secrets in each other's lives.

Duck purpose for writing this book, Dirty south, was to let his audience know to never forget where you came from just because you went to go and do bigger and better things. The impact this book has on its audience is that it influence me to make better decisions in life by not treating people different once I move on in life. I found it to be infatuating how something that can happen in your past can impact how you act in the future. There are not many aspects that will allow this book to have ...more

Life couldn’t be greater for Kenya Posey, a senior, who will be leaving for college soon. Almost getting raped by Lupe Fiasco’s bodyguard and being heart broken by her ex-boyfriend Ricky makes her sometimes question how great of a boyfriend Donnell really is. Instead of waiting to see for hersel ...more

But as the story goes on she gets to be with a guy she thought was the best thing in the world, til she desides on what collage she wants to attend. saddly her choose happineds to be in ga. far far away from home.

Pretty easy read, but the character Kenya was so annoying the way she broke up with her boyfriend, and then expected him to mope around about her forever while she was at college admiring other guys herself...I used to totally be into these Kimani Tru books, but I guessed I kind of grew out of the drama that seems to perpetuate around these characters' lives.
