When you reach rock bottom, the safest place to go and the source of the greatest comfort is often home. In his most recent heart-warming work, Pezzelli reminds us once again of the healing, restorative power of family against even the fiercest ravages of the world. Bruised and battered by failure, Jason Mirabella, like the prodigal son, crawls home in search of peace from his past and answers for the future. Though they view his return with a touch of skepticism and reluctantly welcome him b

This book explores themes of friendship, hope, and second chances. With Villa Mirabella, you follow the shattered life of Jason Mirabella and joyfully watch hiss be reborn.
When Jason Mirabella returns to his childhood home, the only thing he's sure of is that he'll be staying in Providence just long enough to get back on his feet again. He is returning from L.A. where he quickly became a smart, proud, and hardworking marketeer.

This was a sappy story of family, love, and redemption. I watched Jason's character evolve (but not enough) and the byplay between Jason and his family was a yawn. The insight Mr. Pezelli gives the reader into the Mirabella's Italian family, neighborhood, and lifestyle is interesting but predictable. This is a book I would recommend to others as a extremely light read with an uplifting, happy ending.

Love any book about Europe and foreigners, although this turned out to be neither; it is a modern day "prodigal son" tale taking place mostly in Rhode Island at a B & B. ahhh. just the thought of it, and of a family reunion of sorts, as well as the Italian twist had me buying it on the spot. it's clean and a engaging, which you never know when you buy a book with no recommendation. i lucked out!

Enjoyable to read cuddled up under a quilt with a nice cup of tea while the wind blows and the rain falls. Jason, the main character, is believable and became more likeable as the story unfolded. Leaving his family for the glittering façade of California’s business scene, like many, he finds himself expendable. Once the wealthy young rising star, his disgrace causes his opulent lifestyle to rapidly disappear, including the physically attractive and shallow Amanda. Returning home broke and di

I like Pezzelli. He's sort of like a male Binchy. He writes very well about what he knows - Italian-American life. I especially liked the inter-generational aspects of the story.

A light, fun read. Nothing amazing. Toward the end I thought that if one of the characters said "eh" or "ay!" one more time I was going to lose it.

Jason skews the results from research in his marketing for a medical device. When it all comes out he goes home in shame to start over.

A good beach read with the added interest of Italian American food and family. That's about it.

This was a nice read. A story about family with a little romance thrown in.

I love Peter Pezzelli's books about Italian families living in Providence, Rhode Island. This one is just as good as his others and it left me feeling all warm and good.

This is a tale of a prodigal son, a wise father, a touch of faith, a bit of romance and plenty of good Italian food.

Totally clean, very likable. A time-old story, prodigal son returns, but told very well and so it's not just like every other story about the messed up kid returning home. I'm planning on reading his other books now. I only gave it a 3 because it wasn't "gripping" but it was good and is worth the read.
Adding to my review - not all of his books are clean. I read several others, liked some, really didn't like others. Very hit or miss, but all on a similar "life" More...

Didn't actually finish this book. Will probably pick it up again sometime. I like Peter Pezzelli's books so I am sure I will like this one.

Peter Pezzelli, a native Rhode Islander, did not disappoint with his latest novel. I thoroughly enjoyed this story of a Rhode Island family. It was fun to read the references to places all around the state and the Italian food and traditions. Nice book! Still like Francesca's Kitchen the best.

I read a reader's digest condensed version of this but it was still a good story of transformation of spirit and mind.

Loved this book. It's wonderful to be able to read a book, by a local author, and know that you've been to places weaved thruout the story line. I can't wait for Mr. Pezzelli's next book.

An easy read and the style reminded me of Danielle Steele. The characters are likable and there is of course the requisite happy ending. Not too deep but an easy read.

It was a very good book, but not as good as his others. I will still read any new books he writes.
