I very much enjoyed the first section of this book; Fallan does a great job of writing an up-to-date historiography of the field of design history. And it doesn't hurt that he cites me (in a favorable light, no less) more than once. I am less convinced, however, that actor-network theory is going to be terribly helpful to the study of design history. It's fashionable, yes, but I've yet to see any particularly useful studies come out of this approach.
