LEAST FAVORITE OF THIS SERIES!!! And let me tell you that the MAIN reason I didn't like this book was because it had no business being part of the series. Brothers in Arms is a war series. It's about men who struggled thru the war and came together for solace and love and when they came home, for society's sake, they found a wife to share in their menage love ... etc etc etc. Well, Neither Gregory nor Nat were in the war that I could tell and the only connection was they liked kinky sex so they ...more

This is my least favorite in the series, and I think that's because it just didn't seem to fit in with the overall theme. The series is supposed to be about men who struggled through the horrors of war together and are now trying to find a way to cope happily in the civilian world. Gregory just didn't fit into that theme, and his young lovers, the happily married Nat and Alecia, definitely didn't fit into it, either. I was sort of thrown for a loop being introduced to a character I'd never even ...more

Oh how I wished this story was longer. While reading this I pictured Palu as Jason Mamoa and the story just got better and better.

Nat and Alecia are always looking for a sexual thrill and a third in their bed at a party for Ian and Sophie they meet Gregory Anderson (Palu). Gregory has spent the last seven years sailing the world he is half Polynesian and he doesn't fit in either world. In the beginning they used him to blackmail her father and in return they were threatened with blackmail from someone who wants to be their third. I love reading this series, but I didn't feel as connected to the character's in this book as ...more

Mmmm, let's see. Samantha Kane. Love her work. This one just ....didn't hit if for me. It was good, don't get me wrong. I doubt Kane can tell a bad story, but I gave it a four star review because, well, it just lacked -- for me -- a believable story line. I felt it was rushed too much ...almost like, okay -- get to the sex. And the sex is hot. But Kane writes very believable story lines -- and that's something given she is writing m/f/m set in a time period I doubt many people took their clothes ...more

This book is a little different from the previous books in this series. Gregory "Palu" Anderson hasn't been mentioned in any of the earlier books and I kind of wished that he had been. Palu is a child of an English explorer and a native woman from the Friendly Islands. He has suffered from the prejudice of being a half breed. The English can be more than a little unforgiving by those that are different. I guess that is true of everyone in one way of another. I was very happy to find that Palu kn ...more
Samantha Kane has pretty much established her niche as the Queen of the Regency Menage with her Brothers in Arms series. Though one has to be willing to suspend their disbelief in all these polyamorous couples running around the ton with no one the wiser, Kane's attention to detail--the language (though in some of the novels she falls short in this department) and the mores--help to make such a scenario plausible. Bear in mind the Victorians believed the Regency was one of the most licentious er ...more

This story was a little different for this series. I like the premise. Gregory Anderson was outstanding. I like how Ms. Kane handled his attitude about his heritage. Nathaniel and Alecia were also very intriguing. Their arrangement to share the bed with others so Nat would have what he needed was ingenuous. I was impressed that Alecia was so willing to work out a way to save her marriage. I was glad that three people got together and found a way to have what they all wanted and needed. I was als ...more

This is book 6 of a series and I wish I had started from book 1 simply so that I could understand the scene. This is historical romantica/erotica. Gregory Anderson is the son of a famous British naturalist and a Polynesian woman. He doesn't look English or think English. Sexually comfortable with both men and women, he is introduced to Nat and Alecia Digby and falls head over heels in lust, a lust that quickly turns to love as he gets to know them in and out of bed. The sex is hot. I would have ...more

Well it was different then the other I've read of this series. It did answer my question as to whom Anne Goode married from her,Brett and Freddy's story. This story is no a full length novel but it still covers all the facts. This is about a half breed Polynesian/ Englishman Gregory 'Pula' Anderson that comes back to England for a short time but he finds himself in lust with Nat & Alecia Digby a married couple that had come hard times in the beginning of their marriage but has been having a ...more
This one did not grab me as much as the other books in this series. There was no build up to the relationship or the sex so I didn't feel any of the sexual tension that I would imagine should have been there. Plus, there was a whole lot of dishonesty in the beginning on the part of Nat and Alicia, which, in my opinion, Palu forgave much too quickly. After that, things seemed like they were going to look up for the story but it then ended rather abruptly.

I think if there had been a more lead in

Excellent read. This one has a twist, the man and woman are bonded [married:] and they add a man to their relationship. The man is a famous naturalist [and the son of another naturalist and a Tongan woman:]. Emotional adjustments and social complications abound; with racial prejudices added to prejudices against nontraditional relationships. Each book however has done very different things with this concept.

Series is very sequential. Read in order if at all possible.

Actually not bad. A sex fest for sure, but if you expected anything less after five previous books you're in denial. I'll admit I skimmed some of the sexing but the story it self was different. Nat and Alecia have gone through so much, hurt each other so badly, yet forgave and moved on. I appreciated their connection and love for each other.

Palu (Anderson) adds some to their dynamic but I didn't think he was fleshed out as well as he could have. The instant lust I got, the insta love not as muc

Quick and hot--very hot--read. Bare bones storyline, but the sex is a wild ride. Yahoo!
The story was allright but didn't do much for me. It was so peripheral to the Brothers in Arms so while the characters were interesting I keept wanting to hear about the other men. I didn't like the couple's obsession with money although I understand that it was a big issue in those days. The ending was too HEA in some way. So I'm rushing on to the next in this series hoping to have more of my favourite people because I'm really in love with the authors characters despite only 3 stars to this on ...more

I liked this even better than the first book I read by her - though all the same comments apply.

Yes I was attracted by the cover - how not? In the end it is the characterizations that make this though. I just loved the 3 main protaganists. They were flawed, disillusioned, made bad judgments but were just so heartwarming too.

Personally I don't need there to be quite so much sex in a book but I know others like it. A real feelgood book.

I enjoyed this story and I liked the characters. It gave me a bit of a surprise though because it involved a war veteran who I hadn't met yet. So not only were Nat and Alecia new to me but Gregory was as well. There were some brief appearances from previous characters at the beginning and Simon plays a minor role here, mostly in retrospect but he and Daniel are in 2 scenes in person.

I loved this one. Gregory has to be one of my favorite charactors thus far. Nat and Alecia were likable and sweet. I loved the chemistry between the three it was red hot! I wish it was longer because to be honest it was too short and I found some parts to be rushed. But this one really made for a good quick read.

A couple meets a half-Polynesian naturalist. I liked Palu, but Alicia and Nat, not as much.

This triangle has a lot of of themes going on. An exotic male from an Island comes to London and meets couple. The married couple aren't very mature in life. They are a bit shallow and low on funds. Hard to imagine an hea for them but it happened and I believe.

I have to say that I loved Palo's gentle nature, yet strong personality. He's unsure of himself, yet very confident in what he wants. The sex scenes were hot and the romance was great. I really enjoyed this read. I'll be ordering more from this series.

Loved the story, just wish it was longer so we could see Alecia, Nat and Palu (Gregory) together more at the end and so some of the other issues could have had more time to be addressed.

I think this is one of my favorites in the series, so far.

This was the first book in the series where the relationship really seemed about all three of them, not just the two men. Very enjoyable.
