Possession was never this much fun

Trust me or die…That’s the choice Morgan Kingsley, exorcist, is given by the gorgeous rogue demon who’s gotten inside her. The truth is, Morgan has dozens of reasons not to trust anyone, from the violence that torched her house and killed her father to a love life that’s left her questioning her relationship with her erstwhile boyfriend, B

3.5 stars. I have to admit that the main reason I love this series is the beautiful loving relationship between Adam and Dominic. In this book, Morgan even realizes that there's is the most healthy relationship she knows despite the BDSM. I'm not a fan of that myself but the way it's presented here, it does sound reasonable and healthy. I like that Morgan admits that even thinking of them together arouses her.

As usual, Morgan's mouth needs an off button but several times she forced herself to s

I'm obviously a series junkie. Jenna Black's latest book in her Morgan Kingsley Exorcist series was another book I just could not put down. Morgan is an exorcist (duh) living in a contemporary world where demons are real and people can volunteer to become a demon host. Morgan is called in when demons don't play nicely with humans and commit crimes or seize control of a host without permission. She's one of the most successful and strongest exorcists working in the U.S. today. In the first book, ...more

Ok, I don't know what it was about this book but about half way through the book I just wanted to be done with this particular Installment. I'm tired of Morgan's whiny, complaining, selfish, narrow minded ways (and to this I refer to Adam). Yes, she has a couple of good qualities and I would like to see those explored but for me, she needs to grow up already.

I get that she's supposed to be really tough and emotionally f*d up and really really scared of losing control but at this point I sort of

Another great installment in one of my new favorite series.

I am giving this five stars, not because it's any better than the first two, but because it was just as good and this series has been so consistently entertaining and fun to read, I feel like it's earned it's way to 5 star status. I'll continue to give these books 5 stars unless they start to slip and disappoint.

Only two problems with this book: 1. Not enough Adam and Dom (though it would take a lot of Adam and Dom for me to think there

I love these books. This one was a lot tamer than the first two, in my opinion, but it had a great plot and Lugh, the demon king, is finally starting to do something (ie, create his court in the human world).

Oddly, I found this book in the romance section instead of SFF where I found the first two, but this book had a lot less romance than the others. I'm starting to like Brian more, but there's still something about him and his relationship with Morgan that's bothering me. I think it might be t

Leseeindruck - August 2010

I think I have a love hate relationship with these books. I like the world a lot, very unique and the ending is always action packed. It's just that Morgan can drive me batty at times. She tries to come across tough as nails but really she can just be a raging idiot at times. I think if she had a little more snark and there was a smidgen of humor in these books it would make all of the difference in the world. Still I'll read the next book though. I am curious how it all plays out.

Slightly better than the first two. I don't know why I keep reading them. Seems I am a glutton for punishment. Or rather, I am waiting on new books to come in, and these are all I have left that I have not read.

The plot was OK.
For an Exorcist, she really doesn't exorcise very much in the series. Altho in this book, she did more than in the first two.

I still wish she'd stop telling me she is such a badass, mean, cold bitch.

While I liked the book well enough, I am over Morgan. I know she has a long standing hatred of demons, however, based on her situation, her level of whining is annoying. This is the third book, and really her whining and bitchassness has increased. I'm not sure I can read books 4 and 5 if this is how it's gonna be.

Also, Brian, grow a pair.

Thoughts:

Black's exorcist series has been my guilty pleasure read for a quite a while. The Devil's Due is another solid entry into a world where demon's are among us and some humans willingly allow themselves to be possessed. It's hard to beat the crazy fabulous ending from the previous book, The Devil You Know, but Black comes close to it.

The constant battle of Morgan—our loud mouthed exorcist—and Lugh—the yummy demon king--has been the highlight of reading this series. This time around Lugh a

I've now read the first three books in this series, and still, I find the sex scenes disturbing, and the main character to be a whiney, dense, little brat. I can't, nor will I rate this series any higher than 3 stars. Some of the action scenes are good, but, there's not enough of them to keep my sanity in check. C'mon already! Enough of the BDSM and S&M scenes! Are you LKH by any chance? I stopped reading her books for the same reason! This is the storyline of this book. Morgan gets in troub ...more

I love this series! Morgan is one kick-ass chick, but she always knows her faults and admits them. In this book Morgan is approached by a mother that claims her son has been taken over by a demon against his will, but all evidence shows that it was a legal demon...
As Morgan digs deeper and realizes that the boy, a member of God's Wraith (the demon hate group), was actually a part of something else all together, and now, it's getting more personal. With thugs coming to beat her and warn her off a

I'm still really liking this series. Morgan can be abrasive and annoying and hard-headed and she sometimes acts without thinking, but she's interesting. Her relationship with Lugh is convoluted but she likes him, even though he's a demon. She's harboring an attraction to Adam but she has Brian that she loves. It's all very complex.

The story: Morgan is approached by a distraught mother to investigate whether her son was coerced into becoming a demon host. Meanwhile, Lugh is planning on assembling

Morgan's life is still in turmoil: In the third book she's continuing with her role of keeping the demon king Lugh safe from his brother Dougal, trying to learn to live with him, working out her relationship with her boyfriend Brian who refuses to let go of her, despite the role he played in the last installment. (A painful memory Morgan is unwilling to forgive and forget.) However Morgan is also hired to look into the demon possession of a man who was known to be a member of God's Wrath; a fier ...more

Eeeh.... I might be dropping this series although I liked the first two books. It just seems like it's all going in circles and nothing is really happening. Morgan fights with Lugh, Morgan fights with Raphael, Morgan fights with Adam, Morgan fights with Brian, Morgan fights with Dominic... yet everyone puts up with her. I understand that Lugh is stuck with her, but I don't get why Brian and Dominic have patience with her - since these two aren't connected to Lugh.
And there's the moral turmoil w

Morgan is still annoying and still making letting her stubborn attitude and mouthy responses rule much of her decision making, but she does (finally) seem to be making some progress with her control freak nature. I liked this book better than the previous two, though I still have a few questions about a few things that just didn't make sense. Why does Brian keep coming back? Yes, I know he loves her and thinks that Morgan will eventually come around and relent some of her selfish, stubborn ways, ...more

This was a fast easy read for me, and didn't really live up to my expectations. After the secrets revealed in the previous novel, I expected things to become more serious with The Devil's Due. Unfortunately, this novel is mostly a self contained mystery about someone that appears to be hosting an illegal demon. Now that I think about it, the plot could be summed up in a sentence or two, and it's hard for me to think of what actually filled the pages of this novel. One thing is for sure, Morgan h ...more

I'm liking this series more and more. The story is great and starting to get very interesting. The counsel members was very interesting. I'm excited to see where this goes in the next book.

I have to be honest. I'm glad Brian's still around. The relationship is still shaky, but I'm still hoping for the best. I had a good laugh with the little phone call with Lugh and Brian. That should be interesting in other books!

And the series continues. There's less sex this time, but some progress towards getting Lugh on the throne is finally made. This group of allies is really a mixed group. It'll be a miracle if one of them doesn't kill one of the others. Especially with Morgan and her ability to make anyone dislike her hanging around. It's no wonder she got her ass kicked twice by her supposed allies. The woman just can't keep her mouth shut.

Book Three in the Morgan Kingsley series.
A lady named Claudia comes to Morgan asking her to perform an illegal exorcism on her son Tommy. She belives that he has been illegally possessed seeing as he was in the God's Wrath hate group only Ten days ago. This group hate demons and any person 'weak' enough to allow a demon to take his/her body. So how is Tommy now possessed? And worst of all, all the legal documents have been signed by him to say that he was very much a willing host?

This is the best of the three in this series so far. Morgan Kingsley has a tendency to be pretty abrasive, which can get tiring in a hurry, but in this one, it seems like she's finally learning to come to terms with the shit that's been happening to her. Not that she's ever going to be happy about it, but she's learning to cope, so some of the antagonism is fading. She's still a pretty kick-ass, hardcore character, and that's probably not going to change, so if you hated her in books 1 or 2, you ...more
