This wasn't a suspenseful page-turner, however it was a very compelling story centered around Abby and her dysfunctional family (both before and after marriage). Mental illness, emotional abuse, depression, teen pregnancy, "duty" and murder/suicide all play a part in Abby's story and her struggle to turn her life around. You are left with the question of whether Claire can break free!
