Lobo, a New York City Chihuahua, can't wait to run with his wolf brothers when his family (female owner, parrot, and rat) visit Yellowstone National Park. I love that his owner packs up all her pets for the drive to Yellowstone, her terrifying young niece who likes to play dress up with Lobo, and what actually happens when Lobo and the other pets meet real wolves. Funny and heart-warming!
I read this book to my kids to prepare them for a future trip to Yellowstone NP. About three animal friends (parrot, rat and chihuahua) and their owner who travels on vacation to Yellowstone. The chihuahua wants to meet his "wolf pack" but things don't turn out as he hopes. The kids thought this was hilarious, and now they think they are going to meet the chihuahua at Yellowstone.

Good read aloud. The boys laughed aloud frequently, with the 8 yr old staying interested full-time and the 6 yr old twins tuning in and out. As the grown up, I would have given 3 stars; a fun read. Lots of humor at the expense of a ridiculous dog ( Chihuahua).
Very funny book about a chihuahua who is sure he is part wolf and longs to rejoin his wolf pack. Reminded me of Skippyjon Jones. First in a series called animal tales.

A very funny younger middle grade that will appeal to both boys and girls with its madcap (and sometimes grossout) humor.
