This is an excellent resource by Bill Johnson on how we can posture ourselves to receive all that we need from God to face the trials of life. Using the life of David, Johnson shows that even in our darkest hours we can seek the Lord for the strength we need to persevere. The second half of the book is full of personal examples of how Johnson "strengthens himself" in the Lord. I found it to be very helpful to see what others to to encourage themselves towards their destiny. Great book!
This is a great book that I have read again and again. Each time that I pick it up I find a new aspect or element that speaks into my journey just at the time that I need it. It is a book that is rooted in the word of God and provides a wealth of encouragement and wisdom.
Loved this book! Bill Johnson offers a lot of practical advice on drawing close to God and finding strength in Him. He also knocks down some common lies that people often believe. This is a fairly quick read, but well worth it! I plan on reading this several times.
Excellent resource and worth reading over again and again.

Loved it! Everyone should read this. Planning to read it again.
I loved the book just from the title, how else would you want to be strengthened? The second chapter talked to my heart as he speaks of staying connected to your destiny.
Read through it 2 times - lots of meat.
Took about 6 pages of notes so it's a keeper.
Requesting continual encounters with the Holy Spirit, not just a one shot deal at baptism.

This book is exactly what I needed. I forget that I control my dry seasons; they're only dry because I'm not fully performing my job as a Christian.
good practical - how you can stay strong in the Lord
How can you "count it all joy" when facing turmoil at home, work, or within your family? The author tells you how through scripture and personal experience. Looking past your failure and encouraging yourself with Jesus help.
