This is an excellent resource by Bill Johnson on how we can posture ourselves to receive all that we need from God to face the trials of life. Using the life of David, Johnson shows that even in our darkest hours we can seek the Lord for the strength we need to persevere. The second half of the book is full of personal examples of how Johnson "strengthens himself" in the Lord. We all have bad days where things don't go just the way we want. I was truly inspired by this book. When there is no one there to stand with us, we need to trust God and stand on our own two feet. Learn how to minister unto the Lord all by yourself.

I loved the book just from the title, how else would you want to be strengthened? The second chapter talked to my heart as he speaks of staying connected to your destiny.
Read through it 2 times - lots of meat.
Took about 6 pages of notes so it's a keeper.

This book is exactly what I needed. I forget that I control my dry seasons; they're only dry because I'm not fully performing my job as a Christian.
good practical - how you can stay strong in the Lord
How can you "count it all joy" when facing turmoil at home, work, or within your family? The author tells you how through scripture and personal experience. Looking past your failure and encouraging yourself with Jesus help.
