Page 23 says that promotion always comes from direct frankness, and never from flattery.

Everyone must start by gaining something by the use of words, and learning how to appeal to the 9 basic motives is the only way to do so successfully - page 45.

The rest of the book is the application of Napoleon Hill's 17 principles of success to this specific subject, which have been amply explored elsewhere already.
Having dived into the depth & abundance of Napoleon Hill's thought and experience, I cannot help but admire his life's work. It really does take guts to be a courageous dreamer in this fast-paced world. Discovering his books was a stepping stone on my way to advancement. There's a lifetime of discoveries, trials, errors and, eventually, success.

The book focuses on becoming a Master Salesman. However, the book is applicable to everyone. The basic concept is to set goals, understand what motivates people, come up with an action plan to achieve success by capturing people's motivations & emotions, then execute plan. Excellent read.
This book came at the right time... just as I was writing my first job application. Today, I'm employed at a top firm because of many lessons it taught me
