Review only for Cindy Gerard's 'Leave No Trace'
We only got a glimpse of the BOI's as this story was mainly about Wyatt's 2 friends, Cav & Carrie. Cav was the CIA agent who helped out the BOI's when they needed it. Carrie is the girl that Wyatt was dating when they were teenagers and we was introduced to her at the beginning of his story so we already knew who she was.

Fans of Cindy Gerard's Black Ops series
This review is only for Cindy Gerard's "Leave No Trace"...
I don't know how she does it, but with only 115 pages, Cindy Gerard crafted one exciting, smokin' hot, suspenseful, action-packed, romantic read! My only complaint is that it left me wanting more!
Technically, I don't think this can be called one of her Black Ops books, although both the hero (CIA operative David "Cav" Cavanaugh) and the heroine (hospital administrator Carrie Granger) are friends of Wyatt Savage (Risk No Secrets). "Cav" fi...more

Three stories, four authors, one book...
"Just Bad Enough" by Sherrilyn Kenyon and Dianna Love -- This was my first story by these two #1 New York Times Best Selling Authors and I gotta tell you, I'm really confounded. With credentials like that and with Kenyon's name in red (and larger than the other authors and even the title of the book), I was expecting fabulousness. Instead I got a story that seemed way too contrived and forced and, quite frankly, it was amateurishly written. It felt like I...more

I have to admit the only reason I bought this book was because of Cindy Gerard's story "Leave No Trace" and as usual, I was not disappointed. This story follows along with her BOI series and if you haven't read that series (highly, highly recommended), well let me tell you that you are missing out on one helluva fantastic suspense/romance reads. The only drawback about this story was that it just wasn't long enough. Her other books in the series were filled with gritty, edge of your seat, nail b...more

Just Bad Enough by Sherrilyn Kenyon and Dianna Love
This is the series I've been reading. Cece and Jeremy are a cute couple and what I liked most about their story was that they became friends before anything else. That was interesting though we discover things are hard on Jeremy because he basically goes to jail for a living (for BAD), which means he has a rap sheet a mile long.
Jeremy seems to be a decent guy and Cece is an interesting character with her diverse and potentially criminal family.

This review is for Leave No Trace (Black Ops Inc. #5.5) by Cindy Gerard and Unstoppable (Tracers #2.5) by Laura Griffin.
Leave No Trace
Undercover CIA agent David Cavanaugh "Cav" had a brief cameo in Whisper No Lies when he helped Johnny Reed save Crystal from the clutches of a human trafficking ring. Carrie Granger was mentioned in Risk No Secrets as Wyatt's highschool sweetheart. When Wyatt let her down gently and later came back a married man, Carrie was heartbroken. In an effort to get some...more

Sherrilyn Kenyon and Dianna Love's Just Bad Enough is a different take on the usual B.A.D. story. Jeremy Sunn is recuperating from a wound taken on an op and finally meets his very sexy next-door neighbor and spends three weeks getting to know CeCe. What he doesn't learn is her family ba...more

Deadly Promises by Sherrilyn Kenyon, Dianna Love, Cindy Gerad and Laura Griffin
Romantic suspense was a surprising genre for me. My introduction was fairly recent. The three stories in this book have a commonality of action and sexual tension. The guys are all hunks with soulful eyes, gentle hands and the smell of danger.
My only complaint about this book is that there doesn’t seem to be any normal kind of guys who rise to heroic deeds. The male protagonists are way larger than life, reveling in...more

Just Bad Enough
Sherrilyn Kenyon and Dianna Love
Jeremy Sunn is just dreamy. He works for BAD (Bureau of American Defense) agency.
Along with working for BAD, Jeremy also owns his own gym. He’s gone from home a lot when he’s working his primary job but for the past three weeks he’s been recovering from a gun shot wound.
His next door neighbor is Cecilia (CeCe) Caprice. Right from the beginning sparks fly between these two but both are reluctant to start anything with each other. C...more

I have to admit I only read one of the stories in this book (I might go check out the others later) which was the one by Cindy Gerard. I'm currently getting my hands on everY book she's written and am almost through the Black Ops series. Loving it.
This was a short story, but it certainly packed a punch. The story is of hero, Cavanagh, a CIA agent, we first met in Whisper No Lies when he helped the BOIs get out of Jakarta whilst saving Johnny Duane Reed's lady, Crystal, after she was kidnapped to...more

Oh, anthologies. I like you because you introduce me to new authors by including ones I already like. I hate you because a lot of novelists write really bad short stories.
I read this for the Laura Griffin story, and that is what the grade is based on. But that doesn't mean I have nothing else to say!
Sherrilyn Kenyon & Dianna Love - Look. Paranormals that use the term "female" to refer to what is essentially a human woman get a pass because sometimes, the characters aren't technically human....more

Deadly Promises was a fast, fun read full of action, adventure, and romance. Being a fan of Kenyon/Love, I had come to expect a great storyline featuring the BAD agency. This time they definitely did not disappoint. They introduced a unique heroine with an unusual profession in CeCe and a great hero in Jeremy. Together they made the perfect fit. Full of twists and turns as well as some obstacles, Jeremy and CeCe find love despite the odds against them. Another wonderful adventure in the BAD seri...more
I've never really read an anthology book before but I got it on sale and figured it would be a good way to try out new authors or series without investing a lot of time or money. I read Kenyon's Dark Hunters which I love but havenever read any of the BAD series. Not exactly sold on it after this short but I'll probably give it a try. Cindy Gerard's Black Ops caught my interest and I picked up a couple of those. I liked the camaraderie hinted at towards the end of the story and there was plenty o...more
I really don’t like short stories, mainly because they’re so short and you don’t have time to really connect with the characters and get into the plot before it’s over. But the back of the book is what had me interested, namely this part:
From sultry international jungles to the rugged terrain of the American southwest, join the larger-than-life, scorching-hot alpha heroes of the Bureau of American Defense, Black Ops Inc., and the U.S. Navy SEALs for the pulse-pounding, heart-racing, toe-curling...more

Cindy Gerard is a consummate storyteller -- be it a short story, novella, or full length. You just want to melt into her heroes and Cav is no exception. She makes her heroines likeable and you're rooting for them to get the guy.
This was my first Lara Griffin and I felt the story, Unstoppable, was kind of dull. I wasn't captivated by the characters, they felt forced and if I got the idea Gage was a SEAL after the 4th or 5th time Kelsey tells us. Maybe the problem was a restricted word count becau...more

It's always a hard call to review an anthology of stories by three different authors because many variables come into play.
Kenyon is one of my favorite authors, and while her BAD series is not my favorite, I still enjoy her writing style and storytelling abilities. Admittedly, Just Bad Enough was the reason I chose the book in the first place.
Leave No Trace was an interesting story with a well described setting. The female character was strong, and while the ending fit the storyline.

Ok, another anthology dilema..I give "Just Bad Enough" 3 stars, but the other two novellas both get 5 stars, so I'll go with 5 stars for the book. "Just Bad Enough" was actually kind of bland...Yes, there was action and suspense, but I actually wasn't interested enough in either CeCe or Jeremy to care. And I thought "BAD" was just silly.

Just Bad Enough by Sherrilyn Kenyon and Dianna Love (who I honestly have never heard of). This is part of her Bureau of American Defense series. I was able to follow along easily as it seems to be somewhat of a self-contained short story. That being said, for me it was just "meh". I wasn't crazy about either character. He is portrayed as an alpha male but kinda seemed like a wannabe to me. They never really said how old either character is, but she felt young - very young. I didn't like her at a...more

Review: 4 - A Pack Howl
Sexual: 3 - Hot!
A spicy tale where both the Hero and Heroine are keeping secrets from each other. Another great addition to the B.A.D. Agency Series. The writing is fast paced and the suspense is riveting. The sex is passionate and the relationship between the H/h is appealing.

This review is only for Cindy Gerard's Leave No Trace. Loved the story about CIA operative Cav and his whirlwind love affair with Carrie. Carrie was Wyatt Savage's hometown ex-girlfriend, now hospital administrator, who decides to do some charity work in Myanmar. She is arrested after an altercation and sent to a ruby mine to do hard labor. Cav is sent by Wyatt to recuse her.

I am just not that big of a fan of romantic short stories. Everything happens so fast and there is very little character development. I'll give SK props for her convoluted style, she introduces facts in a backwards way so that getting to know these characters plays out a bit like a mystery instead of a data dump, but overall, I just don't enjoy the short stuff.

January 2011:
I only read Laura Griffin's UNSTOPPABLE in this series and loved it! - 4 stars
As usual Griffin writes awesome suspense with subtle romance and the short length of this novella didn't bother me at all. It was well-rounded and well-written.
I loved Kelsey and Gage and their romance. The suspense plot was perfect for the length of the story and though it only partially wrapped up, I am sure it will be completely wrapped up in Mia's story (UNFORGIVABLE) who had a small but crucial part...more
I picked up this book only because of Laura Griffin. So the rating is only for her story, Unstoppable. Typical nerd-meets-hunk romantic suspense. Overall, this is a good passing-time read. I'll say Laura Griffin is passable as a short story writer, but superb as a novel author. It just proves short stories are not for everyone, no matter how talented he/she is.
I picked this one up for the BAD Agency story. Man do I wish it had been a full length one. I like Jeremy a lot and I liked CeCe too. Not to mention her brother Vinny would be fun to see more of. I actually even liked the plot surrounding this, which is saying something for a short little novella. Maybe we'll see these too more in the future.
