Bernhard Palsson's 'canon' on systems biology. I thought this was a well written textbook. The problem is well-motivated and the constraint-based approach presented here make intuitive sense.

I particularly appreciate the descriptions of transformations between reactions and reactants, pathways and pools. The math was reasonably limited and easy to follow. I was reading this book mainly to teach myself about metabolic modeling and felt that my lack of prior expertise was not a significant barrier
