While still maintaining its well-balanced coverage of the 3 perspectives, this new revision has a strong focus on encouraging the student to think about their world with a sociological imagination. Great book to use for sociology though it would have been better if my teacher actually applied it to class. In theory I enjoyed the sociology, at least the book, but the teacher wasn't all that great. :( Taking this with anthropology and psychology really clicked and linked together wonderfully.

Let's be honest, I'm not really reading this. I read like the first chapter and look back in it when my teacher makes us. Otherwise, no one cares. We're on Chapt. 7 at the moment.

Not bad for a sociology 101 textbook.

This is one of my fav textbook and I learned a great deal from this book when I was first introduced to this book. I also used this book as reference for countless number of project papers for my social science studies as if there are no better references.

In brief, people who are interested with Sociology should get this book. Used to own the older version which is in my junior's hand now. I will definitely buy a new copy when I can because this book is just that good!

Did I mention that I hate sociology? This book didn't help. The terms are hard to understand.
