2.5 - I think this is the only I Can Read Pinkalicious book we've read so far. And if I remember correctly I found it by accident at the library last time. Julia's not far enough along in her reading that she could handle this alone so I read some and she read some.
The story is simple, Pinkalicious tells how she really likes school, her teacher, her new friends, but she just misses her unicorn, Goldilicious so much.

This is a story about a little girl who decides to bring her imaginary unicorn to school with her. Her unicorn is well behaved and throughout the story Pinkalicious realizes that she has friends and enjoys school.
This would be a good fit for Kindergarten or first grade. This is a simple book with colorful drawings. I believe its part of a series of books (which I happen to like).

It might just be me, but I don't like the Pinkalicious books starring Goldilicious as much as the normal ones.

Also, it seems that, when we changed over into the
part of the
that the voice for Pinkilicious is different. While this voice is pretty suiting to the character, I did like the other voice for her alot better myself.

I would love to read this book in the beginning of the school year so my students and I can go over the class rules in a fun way. I would follow up this book with a class expectations activity to set the tone for the rest of the year. I think this book would be perfect for younger primary students because they do have imaginary friends at times and can relate to Pinkalicious. She decides to bring her pet unicorn with her to school, but is chastised by her teacher. They agree that Goldilicious ca...more
I like this one. It reminds me of another book I've read (and I cannot quite remember it right now) about taking your imaginary friend to school on the first day. It has a neat approach and a response from the teacher which I did not expect. It's a good conversation and transition book. This one is included in the Pinkalicious: Pink-a-rama box set and Pinkalicious: The Princess of Pink Treasury.

beginning readers and parents reading with them
This is a fun story about a determined little girl and a very patient teacher who humors Pinkalicious with her imaginary unicorn. The story is simple and the illustrations are cute, typical of the series. The Pinkalicious franchise has lost its charm for me, but our youngest still loves it.
Pinkalicious wishes her imaginary pet unicorn, Goldilicious, could come to school too. After promising her teacher that she will behave herself, Goldilicious is allowed to visit school and they have a wonderful day. Categorized as a Level 1 book by publisher Harper, School Rules's simple sentences and straightforward story is appropriate for beginning readers. Unfortunately, although the vibrant illustrations are sure to appeal to reluctant readers, they are for decorative purposes only and do n...more

Cute enough, but I can't say I like the illustrations. Still, I know the kids love Pinkalicious -- is it that name?
