Dr. Cavallo was a professor of American history at Adelphi University from 1988 until his death in March 2011. He was particularly interested in the history of the 'turbulent 1960s'. He had taught at Adelphi since 1980, having previously held posts at Howard University, the University of Rhode Island, and the University of Dayton.
