I killed two birds with one stone with this one. Not only did I finally read a book by Nora Roberts, but I also finally checked out the Overdrive audiobooks my library has been providing for the last year. I'd been hesitant to try it out, first because they initially didn't offer an iPod compatible format, then because I don't listen to audiobooks as much as I used to, so it generally takes me longer than the 7 or 14 day loan periods to finish one. But I'd decided to take a solo trip this weeken...more
There's a reason why Nora Roberts is a name in romance books. Private Scandals was an exquisite book. The first thing I noted was the the irregular series of incidents didn't make it like a romance book but rather as one about the dangers in the television world. It was very humane, provoking compassion for the heroine and real hate for her rival and former mentor. But it was also very down-to-earth. The danger, for example, television people take. Also that the pretty face we see on the telly i...more

Nora Roberts drives me nuts. I love her books when I need some escapist fiction. She can definitely tell a good story, and her research shows. However, I think her editors need a good slap to the head. The way that she changes perspective in the middle of scenes drives me up the wall. For example, in one scene, the scene was being told through Finn's eyes, and then right in the middle she started telling us what the killer was thinking. It's just sloppy writing, and I can't understand how any de...more
A fine romance and a decent read. It wasn't my favorite, but I enjoyed it. I borrowed a stack of Nora Roberts books from my mom when I was visiting, so I've got a bunch that I'll probably read that weren't necessarily recommended as Roberts' best to me.
I do wonder why creepy stalker killers are so much more common in romances than in everyday life, though....

Fantastic book!! This book had a blackmailing bitch, a delusional psychologist, and an obsessive stalker who murders anyone who hurts the woman he stalks!! I actually figured out who the stalker/murderer was very early on, but I still enjoyed this book immensely!!
Yet another impressive story about the strong-willed, good hearted, "I can take care of myself" woman, Deanna Reynolds. Somewhat predictable but still, a nice story. A good read for the ones who have liked the work of Sidney Sheldon.
This first part of this book is a lot of plot setting up, so its a bit slow. I think it starts picking up around 50 or so pages. Suspensful, intestesting, and a little romance. I would say this is one of Nora Roberts best!
Liked the storyline, the main leads character development...esp. like how they spent so much time apart but the chem btwn them was still there. Finn and D make a great couple.
Enjoyable read but too easy to guess who the 'bad guy' was. The romance was very believable and enjoyable (but I would expect no less from Nora Roberts!).
For me this book was just ok, if you are a Nora Roberts fan there are better books out there of hers, but her writting is still great and it is easy to visulize what she is saying. Good easy read!!
fluff I'm sure but fluff has it's place especially in summer for a quick read. Bought at the library in their 10 for $1 used book sale, how can I go wrong? :-)
It was an ok read, nice at times, but I couldn´t really relate to the main characters of the book as I could with others from Nora Roberts...
Great characters, slightly predictable plot at times, but interesting storytelling!
Not her typical romance novel-lots of murder and intrigue as well as romance.

good book...typical Nora Roberts...library book...... mama read
I figured this would be a glitzy, slightly trashy foray for Nora- despite my love for everything of hers I had previously read- simply because of the setting in the world of TV. However I was pleasantly surprised to find it a lip-smackingly good read- I loved Finn, the heroine Deena was terrific and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about her rise through the ranks of the TV network world, the romance was good and scorching, and did I mention I loved Finn? Yah, another great page-turner!
I like very, very much!

This was a good book. I didn't like it as much as Sanctuary. I think partly because I didn't get through it as fast. I start to lose interest in a book if I put it down for too long. I like her as an author though...so I will be reading more of her books.

The suspense in this book kept me going until the end - I was very surprised by the ending! There was less of the hot-and-heavy sex and more depth to the characters (although there was their characteristic banter and Roberts's easy conversational style). When I found out the perpetrator at the end, it was not anyone I would have suspected. Very well done!

I loved Finn and Deana, and their relationship. One thing I really liked was that this book followed thier storey over a period of years. We get to see their careers develop as well as their relationship.
The suspense had me going to the very end. I was pleasantly surprised that i didn't know who the killer was.

Let me begin by saying that I've never read a 'Nora Roberts' book that I didn't like. This one is great. I've read it many times and enjoy it each time.
As always, I could guess who the real culprit was. But still, it didn't diminish the enjoyment I felt while reading this.
What can I say...I didn't see it coming. A little too much not likely to happen, but all in all, still a good read.
I know i have this book on my Nora Robert's shelf at home, but I can't remember ever reading it. Guess I'll have to, eh?
Part of a 3-part series. I only read the last one. For a cheesy romance novel, I thought it was pretty good.
Um livro doce com um mundo maravilhosamente descrito.
