I worked on improving my vocabulary in the mid-1990s. I used this book as part of that. I carried a stack of flash cards with me. Some of this workbook has my work written right in it.

This book is set up to teach five new words a week. Cloze activities are provided as well as idioms and review quizzes. I really like how this book was set up and I did well following it.
a very good book to improve/update the vocabulary. I use it daily

I did not have the chance to finish the book and read it thoroughly but overall I can easily claim that these kind of books are not sufficient for English learners. you simply memorize words without learning them in a context.
