Lucid Debra Glass Librarian Jayne Shepard has always lived vicariously through her beloved books, especially Regency-era literature. So when her friends offer the chance to stay in Villa Diodati, where Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and John Polidori's The Vampyre were inspired, Jayne seizes the chance. I loved the premise of this story...a librarian, in love with literature, whose sexual awakening is sparked by one of her literary heroes, Lord Byron. Debra Glass is a highly talented and descriptive author. Her stories have a way of retaining that Southern charm that is all her own, and her candid prose is at once tasteful though revealing. She revels in the female psyche with characters who are meaningful and unaware. Through her guided prose, they make a transformation into a liberated ...more

NOTE: May contain spoilers

I really love the crafting in this story. I've enjoyed most of Glass's books and "Lucid" is one of my favorites. It is an erotic fantasy, not erotic romance, so readers seeking a love story and HEA might feel short-changed. Taken for what it is, "Lucid" is an excellent short read concerning a woman's sexual awakening with the ultimate fantasy lover.

Afficionados of foreign travel and Romantic poetry don't want to miss this story.

Loved this book, and you know what? :) I think Lord Byron would be very pleased with her depiction of him! Fantastic job, Ms. Glass!

It was a dark and stormy night...

Wait, let's start again. One dark and gloomy night in an old manor, a shy librarian decides to partake in a bit of absinthe while dressed in period costume. There's only one possible scenario that could come about from this. Why of course...Lord Byron (THE Lord Byron) shows up from out of nowhere and seduces the young woman.

I liked this take on a time traveling/ghost fantasy. LB was hard to resist. I wouldn't have questioned much either if I was in the same situ

I was a bit sad that it didn't end up with as a time-travel novel, but other than the slightly disappointing ending, it was very hot.

A full time freelance writer, Debra especially enjoys combining history, mystery and a touch of taboo to weave stories with unforgettable
