Book Shout Out

"Nothing But Drama," written by ReShonda Tate Billingsley is an outstanding book. It teaches life lessons as well as morals. "Nothing But Drama," is about four girls who are all going through different types of growing pains. When these four girls meet for the first time, things didn't start off on a good foot. Some girls were confused, tough as nails and society- darling. As the four girls embarked on their adventures together they learned how to appreciate their life and pare

Nothing But Drama by: ReShonda Tate Billingsley

This is an inspirational book about doing wrong things and aiming to fixing them, like with teen issues; with boyfriend drama and arguments with mothers and fathers. It’s interesting and motivational; and I think that it really helped me think about things that I’ve never considered before in my life. But it’s a good book, and a great read; and I'd recommend it to mostly teenagers who need some answers and inspiration. I thought that it was a good b

Rachel, the first lady of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, founded Good Girlz Club, and Camille, Angel, Jasmine and Alexis all have different reasons for becoming a part of this community service group.
Honor Thy Mother and Father is the theme of this first book in Billingsley's Christian teen series. Camille seemed to be the only one who had a real problem obeying the Fifth Commandment, while it appeared that Angel (hurting & confused), Jasmine (angry & defensive) and Alexis (misund

I wanted to like this book. I really did. But the characterization is weak, the narration is awkward, and the plot is, well, kind of lame. I think most of that stems from the author choosing the least interesting character as the main POV character and only briefly delving into the lives of the character with the most drama. Also, I just didn't get why I should care at all about Camille and I definitely didn't get what she saw in her boyfriend. Not to mention I still don't get how the book clear ...more

This book is about a girl named Camille whose life is filled with nothing but drama. After being with her boyfriend Keith whom she hasn't seen in a long time since he's got out of jail. Being so happy to see him she would sneak out at night to be with him and let him come over her house not knowing that he had a warrant out for his arrest. She was then sent to be in a church youth group which was a community service for her because she did not want to be there and it was a requirement. Although ...more

Being that this was the first book i think it was great. It showed some lessons learned, and more. Camille is in a world of her own and is a world of drama herself. I think that they will stay friends through the whole good girlz series which is 7 books. I only was able to but 5 of them so hopefully i will get 6 of them to how the girls relationship will play out. But for this to be the first book, this book was not only wonderful but nothing but drama. It really expresses the life of what some ...more

I liked this book and will be using it as the first book in my Teen Book Club for girls that I am starting this month. I will begin at my church and start going to the High Schools to see if I can do it there. This series is based in Houston and written by a Houstonian. I read the series of six books so far and enjoyed them all because they deal with real issues that teens are facing and will help to promote discussion about these issues in the group.

I love this series, I find myself relating to these different teenage girls on many levels. These lessons they learn as they go, are real life problems that happen every day. This author delivers in every book, teaching and preparing.

Someone had left this on the counter as I was checking out, so I picked it up in hopes that it might be something like the enjoyable Miracle Girls series. Sadly it was more of a morality after school special, written by an adult desperately trying to sound like a hip, urban teen and failing.
This book was okay. Not all interesting but it did have alot of drama like the title says. Dont want to spoil the book so just read it to see what you think. I gave it a 3 star because it was a good book but not like the books I enjoy reading.

Very good realistic fiction. It's a series that will be great. I believe a lot of girls should read this--might get the message across about believing/loving/caring for themselves, learning self-confidence and how to deal with family relationships. Highly recommend it.

This was what I call a "nostalgic read" for me. I used to stay reading ReShonda Tate-Billingsley's books during math class in middle school. I am committed to reading the entire series again.
