Lisa Ruscyk is not only a really sweet person but she’s also a very creative writer. I read and reviewed The Blue Pen back in October and just loved the unique premise. Hooked. I honestly could not stop reading this book: in bed, on the bus, at college, even at the library. The idea behind this is so original and exciting, the twist created a hell of a lot of suspense. It was beautifully written and Azzy and Sam made a cute couple and their love of books was well understood. Dialogue was a little hard to follow at times and I think it was a little too grown up for me, based on the age of the characters, though it was of a Young Adult style. I least liked t More...

Whoa Nelly! What I loved about this story is that from the beginning you think you understand the dilemma, eventual outcome, and formula. Then you are thrown for a loop when the story shifts and a very inventive premise takes over.

Sam the Night Person is a refreshing breakaway from what is out there right now. The female protagonist at first comes across as a weak lovestruck woman but as the story progresses you learn that she is in fact multi-layered, confident, and unapologetic.
