Time for another manga series. And yes, I have a lot, so be prepared.
I'm reviewing the entire series here, hence some things hidden under spoiler tags since they technically spoil volume 1 (but not necessarily the whole series). Just a heads-up.

I got into Arina Tanemura thanks to Full Moon o sagashite, and I wasn't sure I'd like everything else she'd done, so that's why it took me a while to get into her first major series: Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne. It took some getting used to since it turns the c...more

Pretty artwork, but a mess of plot and characters which are obviously lifted from other, mostly better manga (Codename wa Sailor V, Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon, and Saint Tail being the most obvious). I did appreciate the lipservice to the idea that Jeanne can take care of herself, but in the end she's still very reliant on others. In the end, though, we've seen this plot a million times, and in order for it to be worth going through again, the story would have to have something truly original an...more

I really liked the first volume of Full Moon O Sagashite, so I was pretty excited to read Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne. Sadly, it's just not up to the same standard. I understand that this is an earlier work, which explains so much. Like why the artwork, while pretty, isn't quite up to the quality of Full Moon. Or why I didn't find myself at all emotionally invested in the story. In the end, there was nothing that really made this stand apart from other books for me.

It's been a long time since I last read it (maybe back in 6th class?) but I know that I truly enjoyed the whole series :) That's because it was one of the first manga I ever bought, too. I still think of Arina Tanemura as a highly skilled artist, but I wouldn't buy most of her stuff again, now that I am older, haha ^^ I plain and simply outgrew a bit of this. But to sum up I think it fits people perfectly who adore the shoujo genre and romance :3

This rating and review is for the whole completed story.

I remember back then, when I read this story in my last middle-school year, that it was the greatest shojo manga I've read, with thieves theme, fairy, and historical aspect of Jeanne D'Arc. But what actually amuse me was the twist thrown in the end of the story. I remember my more innocent past self exclaimed "What? How come?" and so I absorbed int his story fully.

Ah, those good ole days.

i do have some issues with this series. the whole idea is that she is joan de'arc's reincarnated soul to seal paintings and seal demons. i guess i'm a little tired of people not understanding what being catholic means. saints don't get reincarnated, think of it as like reaching nirvana. it's the end of the line. christians really aren't suppose to buy into the whole reincanation thing to begin with though, but to put a saint like that bothered me.

keren. keren. keren. ini deh the best from Arina.
walopun yah dlm beberapa hal gue ga cocok sm cerita Adam dan Eve-nya. ah tp inti keseluruhan cerita keren bgttttt ><

cinta dan benci, kesalahpahaman, orang-orang ke-3 oh so perfect deh di sini. dan bener2 gue ga duga klo yg sebenernya jahat itu siapa. gila bener2 deh kagetnya. pokoknya ceritanya genuine lah. manga emg keren (9)

Aw, this is so cute. I really like it so far. I feel nostalgic even though I never read this when I was a kid. My best friend wanted me to read this in high school, but she only had it German and although she swore I'd be able to understand it (and I might now)it was beyond my level back then.

fantastic artwork, fantastic story. the characters are intriguing, funny and loveable. the plot is dynamic and has an idealistic, religious vibe. arina tanemuras best work. the whole series that is ;)

My favorite manga from Arina Tanemura but also the last I've read, because I didn't like any of the stories she drew after Full Moon.

I had wanted to read this series 14 years ago and now I'm too old and disappointed. To be a teenager again. . .

The characters are cute and I love the drawings. But the story itself was too chaotic for my liking. I was rather confused and didn´t really enjoy it as much as i wanted to.

This manga is about a girl who is the reincarnation of Joan of Arc. She hunts down demon-possessed paintings and gets rid of them.

Found this at my local library and thought it sounded pretty interesting. I was liking when I first started reading it, but it wasn't the best manga I'd ever read. However, later in the manga it does get much better and funnier as well. So, I kind of liked it. I'm not sure if I'd read the rest of the series.

This series starts a bit chaotically with readers thrown into the magical girl show and developing rather into high school romance manga. Well, it sure is aimed at another audience than a man in his thirties but I liked it enough to go for the second volume. ^_^
